Lets get to know the best XI for the BPL season 2008-09. GOALKEEPER: EDWIN VAN DER SAR(MANCHESTER UNITED)-71 saves and 21 clean sheets.Stats tells all about him. DEFENDERS: GLEN JOHNSON(PORTSMOUTH)-Lost his way at Chelsea but managed to make a complete turnaround at Portsmouth. He is a regular fixture at the right back position for the Three Lions. BREDE HNAGELAND(FULHAM)-Standing at 1.94m tall, the former FC Copenhagen gaint has been a revelation for the Cottagers atthe back. NEMANJA VIDIC(MANCHESTER UNITED)-Serbian sweeper is a scary prospect for any opposing striker. Armed with a towering header and great leadership skills at the heart of defence, Vidic seldom puts a foot wrong. ASHLEY COLE(CHELSEA)-This season has been a bright turn around in his career. He did his both offensive and defensive duties with atmost ease. MIDFIELDERS: FRANK LAMPARD(CHELSEA)-What a player for Chelsea?? 20goals season in season out. About time this man gets regarded as one of the top midfielders in the world. STEVEN GERRARD(LIVERPOOL)-Stevie-G is the heartbeat of Liverpool with every attack going through him. Critics always expect too much from him, such is the standard set by him. STEVEN IRELAND(MANCHESTER CITY)-Yes,Man City have enough crisp dollar bills to cover the entire ptich but what they lack is a player who lives and breathes for the club. It will be a pity if City start buying midfielders and relegate him to the bench. CRISTIANO RONALDO(MANCHESTER UNITED)-His game comes with an arrogant persona but wasn't it just a while back when a certaim Cantona made his name by being the same arrogant genius we fell in love with? STRIKERS NICOLAS ANELKA(CHELSEA)-Second fiddel to Drogba for a long time before getting his chance this season. 19 goals and the Golden Boot title in the bag, he has to be in the list. FERNANDO TORRES(LIVERPOOL)-"EL NINO" is his nickname in his homeland. But he is no longer a kid. 14 goals does not justify his worth at mersyside and if the man can stay fit for the upcoming season, Liverpool might go one better in the table. NOTABLE MENTIONS: ASHLEY YOUNG(ASTON VILLA) LEIGHTON BAINES(EVERTON) PEPE REINA(LIVERPOOL) Some of you may be fuming at the choices made so why not give us your BPL Best XI and explain your choices?

Great choice man!!! totally agree with our list. But i would prefer slight changes and some notable facts... Would prefer petr cech as golie and would mention robinho and andrei arshavin. Arshavin was the soul reason for arsenal to finish fourth. So i would add him also in the notable list...
