I need to boil it to drink. I don't like the raw water from the faucet although it is clean but I can smell strange smell from the water; or I drink the bottle of water. What about you? Do you have any perfernces of drinking water?

In our house it is just plain old tap water for us. There is nothing wrong with our water so I see no reason to waste money on bottled water. Not only is it a waste of money, but I cringe to think of all of those plastic bottles.

If our water was not clean I would definitely use bottled water as well.

It all depends where I am at and what water it is. When I was growing up in town with my parents I didn't have any choice but to drink the water from the tap because back then they didn't really do the whole bottled water thing they have done the last 10 years or so. I never liked it though because our town had chlorine in the water so it tasted really bad, kinda like when you drink water that goes through a water softner. Where I live now though is out in the country and the well water is really really good so I do drink it right from the tap. Sometimes I drink the filtered water out of the refrigerator door, but I like the tap water here better. When I move to town again in a few weeks I don't know what the water there is going to taste like, everybody says it's better although at my parents it still tastes the same to me. If it tastes really bad like that I'll probably get some gallons of water from WalMart or something like that though. I don't drink enough plain water to begin with and if it tastes bad I really won't drink enough so that's why I'd get the bottled stuff.

Hello mermaidivy, I usually boil the water first. Here, we are not advised to drink straight from the tap. Even though the water look clean and clear, I still have no confidence to drink it directly from the tap.

Yes, i do. It's not really as contaminated as on some cities here but ours is pretty much safe to drink. Distilled water is not really a commodity here in our city at least. If yes, then it would add another pesos to the budget. I don't know but i think it's clean. It's been years and everybody in the neighborhood still relie on water from the faucet.

Hi mermaid...We don't really drink raw water from the faucet but we do have a pitcher that filters the water. The filtering process makes it taste great!

I usually drink water from faucet, because there it is cold and I don't have time to boil the water. We have quite clean water, with no taste and smell, so I don't have to be worried about infections or bad taste or smell.

Buying bottled water all of the time is expensive. And it is often the same water that you get from your tap! If you check the bottle, it lists where the water is from. Some is from springs. Others say 'municipal source' which means it is the same water you get from your tap! We do use tap water, but we filter it first. It does taste a bit better that way. But if we dont have any water filtered and I am thirsty, I have no problems drinking it straight from the tap!
