Governor Palin pointed out the bias of the media. David Letterman smears her daughter and nothing is done. Don Imus makes a similar comment about a college girls basketball team, offers a sincere apology and is fired. David Letterman makes a joke and his ratings go up. President Obama, then Senator, told the media the family is off limits and it is so. The media then attacks Gov Palin and her family. Even now her children are being attacked in the media. Bristol made a mistake and is trying to prevent the same thing from happening to other girls. What is constantly pointed out is that she is a single mom. You have a man who makes a remark about "slutt*y flight attendant look'' talks about raping a girl , or as he said an 18 year old, and he is still on the air. A man who makes a joke about raping women and the women's groups are silent. To me it shows that the the further left the person the more important it is to destroy a person to fight a political idea. This is a page out of the Saul Alinsky play book, the one that Community Organizer Brack Obama followed and taught others from. If David Letterman has a problem with what Governor, yes David she earned the title and it should be used, Palin stand for then debate her on the issues and not attack her family.

This is something that the liberals of the country have always done: ignore things that are detrimental to their cause. Supposedly, they're the party of love, equality, and the little-man in America. They're constantly preaching how it's the conservatives who are mean, nasty, ignorant, hateful, etc. Yet, apart from a few freak occurrances and various incidencts that they can paint as "right-wing," you only see it coming from the left. They're supposed to stick up for women, teens who get pregnant, minorities, and they're supposed to fight back against slander, bigortry and out-and-out ignorance. Right? Hasn't that been their message since the party switched from mostly racists to all progressives around the Kennedy era? I'll need an actual liberal to explain the lying to me. Someone who is familiar with the party will have to tell me why there's a double standard. And I don't want to hear, "Conservatives do it too!" Hey, that's not even close to the point. The left is supposed to be the bigger man, so to speak, standing on a higher plateau of moral superiority. Yet, time and again, they're constantly acting like children: attacking and belittling whomever they don't agree with, and consistently looking the other way when one of theirs spews hatred. Truthfully, and I highly doubt any liberal can prove this wrong, being the minor majority in America has caused the left to develop extreme narcissism. They know that when they spew hatred and play into the double standards that it's hypocritical and just plain wrong. They know that they're not helping their country by constantly attacking those who don't believe in abortion as birth control, large controlling government, insanely expensive alternative energy, infinite funding for failing public schools, gay marriage, the abolishment of Christianity, the perpetuation of Islam, and any other cause that's not "theirs." They know it only divides the country. They do it simply because they can. There's no one to call them to task. The public doesn't stand up against it. It has become something in America that every person sees but that no one wants to actually fight against. It's our fault. We're complacent to the point that we're complicit. There will always be extremely large groups of people that are unable to think for themselves. They'll always drown in the Kool-Aid. It's up to the rest of us to show them that it's not okay. And that starts in around 2 years. :-)

Wow...couldn't have said it better. :) There's a real big double standard....and it's not just over looked by the media..it's encouraged.

You did not mention that during the campaigns of the past few years who was it that kept bring up race and the politics of hate. Even now we are being told that people who work and earn money are evil. The liberals are the ones who select and identify people by categories and not qualifications.

I think most people realize the media is biased. But, since Palin said it is biased, most people will deny it or ignore it. I've heard so many people say that since Palin said or did it, they would be against it no matter what (which I tell them is ignorant). I don't agree with Palin but I'm not stupid enough to automatically discount everything she says and does.

Absolutely... and the liberals see nothing wrong with it. If a similar comment had been made about Chelsea however, there would have been hell to pay. This is just more of the double standards as applied to liberals verses conservatives.
