Irritated Eyes

About two weeks ago I started to notice my left eye was all red. I wear contacts all of the time, so I thought maybe it had something to do with those. I have glasses for back up, so I decided to go a whole week without my contacts to see if that would help. I thought maybe they just needed replaced earlier than usual. On top of wearing my glasses for an entire week, I bought redness relief eye drops. I have been doing both of them for 6 days now and I'm still noticing the redness.
I know that it isn't pink eye. There isn't any crust or anything forming around the eye. It's just the redness in the white part.
I have been traveling a lot in the past few weeks - so I thought that maybe it was allergies and that the pollen has just been really bad in the areas that I'm in.
I don't have any other ideas as to what this could be. I was hoping maybe someone here would have ideas as to what it might be or ideas as to how to help it.
I am getting married one week from today - so I need to get this taken care of ASAP. When I get back into town today, I'm planning on purchasing allergy relief eye drops to see if those help at all.

It does sound like it could be allergies. It definately is the time of year for it. I have allergies and sometimes it seems to bother one eye more than the other. Hopefully if you get some allergies relief eye drops they will work for you. I know it is not fun to have to deal with and even worse when you have a wedding coming up.
If all else fail, if the red eye relief ones are working, maybe you can use then just for the wedding. But, hopefully you can fix it before then.
Just to let you know you don't want to use the red eye drops to much. They have an ingredient that shrinks the blood vessels (thats what clears the red.) Your eyes can become dependent on the drops. They are ok just for brief occasional use.
I hope you find something that will help it for good!
