So, many of us might go to restaurant once a week, or once in a while. The restaurant may provide delicious food; and the waiting staff might provide some useful information if you have questions on what you gonna be order. Some waiting staff might giving good services in hope of good tips later on. Due to the economic recession, many of us might consider cut down on the number of times of dining out, or even the quantity of food going to be order. Would you still cut down the tips too, regardless the service you receive? Some people will, and some poeple won't. Consider it, tips is the biggest income for the waiting staff. Why would you do that, right?

I do consider being a good tipper if the service and food was right and it tastes good. With that being said, I carry a tip chart in my wallet so I know how much I'm supposed to give and if they do really well, than i'll give alittle more than the chart recommends. Some people don't realize that waiters/waitresses don't make alot of money hourly and rely on the tips from their customers so i do take that into consideration when deciding on how much to tip. They are on their feet all day long and even though it's good exercise for them , they do work really hard to try and please the customer.

Yes, I am a good tipper. Reason why is because you never know how hard others struggle and you want to be as helpful as possible because maybe they have a family, you know? Unless your waiter is a complete butt then you should always tip generously. Also if your waiter is very friendly you should tip well.

Over here, it is not a common practice to do tipping. In our restaurant bills, we are usually already charged 10 percent for service, and another 7 percent for GST. That adds quite a bit already to the overall bill. So locals do not usually tip, unless the service is really excellent where people are willing to pay above the 17 percent charged. When I go overseas, I usually will tip for services in the restaurant, because tipping is usually a culture in the countries I visit on my holidays.

I give tip only when the service is good. If the food is served fast and quality of food is good I do it. Otherwise it is out of question to tip them. If we people keep giving tips for bad service then the waiters will never realise that they are delaying or misbehaving. The tip amount is very general as to me, it is Rs 10/- in small restaurants and people do not pay tips in High Budget restaurants :-D

I don't always tip. For me, it depends upon the service the waiter gives, and the test of food. Sometimes, the waiter service is bad, the taste of food is great. Sometimes the other way round. Even though I am not a good tipper, I definitely give a good tip when I am really satisfied.

My husband is a good tipper. I am more careful with my money, but since I do not have that much, I let him do the tipping. It used to be that he would add a tip to the receipt, but now he tells me to put some money under the sugar bowel or a cup for the waitress if she is particularly nice. We do not leave a tip when the service is ordinary or below par. I do not think the economy should make any difference, because in some cases, the waitress or the server relies on those tips, and if they are shoddy or the service is bad, then the tips should go to someone who is good.

I worked in an Italian restaurant when I was a teenager, earning $1.00 an hour plus tips so my tips were very important to me. I used to hate it when I worked hard to provide great service to my customers and was rewarded with a small tip or...worse yet...no tip at all. So, my husband and I always tip. Good service gets 15%, not so good service gets 10% and bad service by someone disinterested in his/her job gets $1.00.

I certainly try to be a good tipper, regardless of the economic conditions. Other than the altruistic reasons, it just doesn't look very good on me if I fail to tip 10%-15% of the bill.

I'm a good tipper if I am extremely satisfied with the service and with the food. Here in the Philippines, we do not have policies about the tips. In most restaurants, on top of your bill, there's additional 10% Service Charge which usually goes not just to your server but to everyone in the resto. As I said, if I am very much happy with the service and the food, I give tips - it would range from 100 to 300 Philippine Peso, which is already considered a good amount here. Some people do not even give tips!

I don't give tips when there's a service charge included in the bill. But I do give out tips to those who are worthy. Sometimes the service is so lousy.
