What is an HTML sortie and how do I get one/use it?

I really want to put links to all of my PTC sites in my profile, I know HTML but I've never heard of a sortie. I have no idea how to use it or get one, or even how to put it on my profile. I feel so out of the loop! Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

The other user summed it up nicely as to how to do banners. It took me some time to do them as well, as I couldn't figure it out. I had the instructions that someone gave me, and I tried adding banners too, and guess what? I got the banners put on my profule. I was happy when I finally got it too, as I think that banners are a good tool to get referrals. I haven't got any yet, but I am sure I will. It is just hard to get people to do the sites since they are low paying, and people just don't want to bother with them, as they feel they are w waste of time. To me, they aren't unless they don't pay. Other than that, I feel they are worth it since they are free. Sure, they don't pay a lot, but it all adds up in the end.
