Flint, Michigan...a Blight Proposal

Several sprawling cities suffering from declining populations and tax revenue are facing a third hit from this miserable economy. One such city is Flint, Michigan.
*
A new proposal has been set on the drawing board to keep these places from going completely down the plug hole. The government, including President Obama, propose that the blighted, neglected parts of the cities which include long neglected homes be bulldozed and returned to nature. That will allow the reduced police force and fire fighters to be more effective if they have fewer homes to protect, and the postal service have fewer mail boxes to stuff mail boxes in. In other words, the cities are going on a diet to get a leaner, trimmer figure.
*
No one will be forced out of their homes according to the people in charge. The homes targeted for bulldozing are fit for housing nothing but rats and a few rooftop trees. They have no plumbing or wiring of any sort...as most such valued material developed 'legs' a long time ago. Many of these places finds Nature busily bulldozing already, with lots of wildlife calling the dwellings home.
*
The sell prices of many of these places is as little as $1. Whole blocks can be bought for less than a used car. There are few if any private buyers.
*
A lovely example of Nature having her way with an abandoned home...

I'm all for dozing them and returning the areas to nature. I really don't see any negatives to that.

Considering the state of the homes in question, I agree.
