"You're not that experienced for the job"

How would you react if your employer can't give you your desired salary because you are not that well experienced for the job? This problem is common among entry level applicants. Will you be willing to accept the offer even if it's below your expected salary or negotiate that experience is not really an issue? How would you confidently and respectfully say it?

I haven't encountered that when I was looking for my first job (which is also my current job). But I think if I am told I am not that experienced and that only a lower offer is possible, I will still take it. Money is important but we have to have a strategy to get it. If a job offers enough opportunities for me to learn and accumulate experiences, I will treat those as part of the renumeration package. Things learnt belongs to me and they are my assets. It is just like investing part of the salary into learning new things and gaining experiences so that I can have more bargaining power in hunting for another job.

Yes and in the end, it's more than a money issue. What will matter most is the experience you gained and the self-fulfillment you achieved.

yes, I would at certian jobs I would accept a job that is below my current expected salry if the terms include advncement. If it would take a couple of year then maybe no I would not accept it, but if it was within a year or so I would work below the current wage.. However you have to think that there is not many jobs out there to be had, so you really need to think about you expected salary and decide from there what you will do and for how much. It also depends on the experience that you have for job to.

If the offered salary is far much lower than what i demanded, then i will first haggle... we can meet half-way,lol. If the employer turned down my offer then i will not accept it. There are lots of other companies out there. Dont settle for less. The salary that a company offers you is, indirectly, how that company see you. So, when applying for a job, highlight your skills, achievements in school (if you still do not have much work experiences) and the things that you have that other applicants dont have.
