There are a number of internet cafes in the area where I live. Oh, and they are so popular. Always crowded ! Many waiting for their turn ! And, the services are quite good too. I drop by there too once in a while when I am walking by there , and had missed checking something back at home on my computer. Do you like spending time at internet cafes ? Are they popular there ?

Yes, we have a lot of internet cafes here. You see them almost anywhere, like in the malls, downtown and even in the neighborhood. When i still didn't have a computer at home, it is in the cafes that i go online to check on my emails and chat with friends. But now, i only go there when my pc isn't working. It is kind of embarassing to go on internet cafes here because most of them are full of young people playing online games. They are so popular that though we have a lot of them here, you'll see young people waiting for their turn to play on a computer.Yes, they are always crowded.

Hello Sweetie. So nice to see you ! Yeah , these internet cafes are more popular for playing games. And, with the games so addictive, the kids want to go there every day, and play for hours and hours. So, the Operators make a lot of money for running the cafes, for emails and for the games. Have a nice day Sweetie !

We do not have any here where I live. Most people have their own computer with internet so there is not much need to have them here. I know I saw tons of them when I was in Taiwan.

Yes, I think they may make some money. I had talked to my husband once about me starting one in a town near us. But he said most people already have computers so you would probably lose money doing that. I did not agree as many people do not have access to computers or the internet. I believe this opens a whole new world for people and I wanted for others that did not have it to have access so they could see and learn. But alas, we always discuss things before doing it especially if it involves spending a lot of money.

It is addicted once you used to go to the internet cafe. Here it is popular. I am not used to be one of using internet cafe because i have a free access to the internet. I go to internet cafe when i am out of ink and i have something to print.

i do spend times on computer shops when i need to look at something. specially when i work out of towns. if my laptop is to slow on the dial up using my cell i just go to internet shops so i can have a good view of my wife and son on chat. but if my laptop is working perfectly then there is nothing to worry about. i just go internet shops in case i badly needed something from the net

Hi Greenline, they are quite popular over here too. However I noticed that their customers are usually youngsters and young adults who are more interested in online and network games. The only time I entered an internet cafe was when I was overseas (Philippines) and I didn't bring my laptop and needed to check my mail.

Yes, you are right. These days, internet cafes are more for online games. They are ofcourse, like for yourself, handy for travelers some times. I dropped in once at a cafe when I was visiting Bangkok, Thailand, and the place was just full of young kids enjoying the games.

I actually try to avoid them as much as I could. I don't need it generally because work has good internet access and I get to check out whatever I need while at work - or I could just ask to drop by a friend's house to connect to their wifi internet if I really need it. I also got jaded because my sister kept on saying out loud that spending time in internet cafes is a waste of time :P Thanks for the response on my discussion :)
