"The Pearl of the Orient Seas" that's what our national hero, Jose Rizal fondly called the Philippines. Have you been to the Philippines? If not yet, I invite you to journey with me here, as I tickle your imagination about the islands Philippines and who knows maybe literally come and visit the Philippines. For veteran lovers of these scenic islands, come join me as we discuss about what you like about the Philippines. The Philippines is a group of 7,107 tropical islands (more or less, depending on the tide) found somewhere in between the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The three main group of islands are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The Philippines is virtual haven of hundreds of varieties of flora and fauna. We are home to the largest eagle in the world, the Phil. Eagle (pithecopaga jefferyi), found in the high mountains of Mt.Apo, in Mindanao, which is also a favorite place for mountain enthusiasts, and one of the smallest primates, the tarsier found in the island of Bohol. Are you a flower or orchid enthusiast, well the Philippines is a place for you. It has many scenic beaches, comparable to many in the world, such as Boracay, El Nido Palawan, where one can swim, frolick in the sun, work on a tan and for the more adventurous, surf.Yes we have some of the best places to surf--Siargao for example. Looking for a place to scuba dive, or other underwater adventure, you've come to the right place. Have you been to an underground river? Yup, we have it here... Have you been here? tell me what you love about the Philippines...there are many and geography is just a starting place.
