In Case of Emergency....

A paramedic came up with an idea and that is to place and ICE number on your mobile phone. This actually stands for In Case of Emergency. This number could be your mother, your father or your husband or wife. In other words this is the specific person that someone can contact listed on your phone just in case you meet an accident and nobody knows who to call. I think this is a very wonderful idea considering that just in case you suffer and accident and you are already unconscious, browsing through you mobile phone contacts, the responders or the first aider can then contact the ICE number and inform that person about the emergency. What do you think?

It's great idea to place and ICE number on our mobile phone you know. The paramedic was absolutely true. But i didn't mean this to be happens, "what about when we had an accident and the cellphone was damage because of some strong impact in the accident?".. Back to square one i guess.

Yes, that would be great to have ice. But of course, if the mobile phone is damage, then that would be another story. Most likely your wallet will contain information on who to call for. But if the cellphone is not damage, then such person to call for emergency can easily be called right. Well, at least there are plenty of options. Best to you!

It is an excellent idea, I have often thought about this myself because we all have lots of numbers on our phones and no one would know who to ring first. On my phone I have my hubby listed as hubby so that if anyone needed to contact him they would know who he is but this ICE thing is a brilliant idea.

Yes, I am also doing what you are doing. But you are right, oftentimes it would be confusing as to whom to call most especially with a lot of numbers on our mobile phone. Certainly the ICE number would be very helpful.

I think its a great idea, but what if that person is already in your phone? do you delete that one?

There is no need to delete that person. You can actually input the ICE and the number and have another name like your wife, mother or father and have the same number with the ICE number. Best to you!

I think it's a great idea. Is it widely known like 9-1-1?

Yes it is. But I think not many people are aware of this as of the moment. I think the important thing to do if they want this to work out is to create a public information campaign.

Well, shouldn't anyone make sure it's clear for everyone when they check your phone, who to call. What I do is: Amother... the A is to make sure it's one of the first if not the first entry. :) That should work as well.

That is also an excellent idea. I am in fact using that to make sure that the most important person in my life will be the first to appear on my mobile phone. Most likely when someone will check your phone they would obviously see that number and assume that its the one that they can call in case of emergency.
