Ugh. I am very frustrated today, along with Thousands of Canadians waiting on a Unemployment Check. Today for the SECOND pay day in a row they are having "technical difficulties" and the payments are delayed by a day. So for the people in other Countries I will explain E.I very quick, If you are unemployed, sick off work, having a baby, or many other things, you may be entitled to a Unemployment check. They pay you a percentage of your old wage and go by how many hows you have normally put in to your previous job. Well people on E.I are usually a few bills behind, there is a 1 or 2 week waiting period where you have no funds. Being off work and not expecting to is VERY hard to plan for. Well to make it worse E.I likes to have problems with their site, but only on pay days it seems. Not to mention your don't get your same wage, which makes bill payments and arrangements harder to make. So yet again I have had to call the hydro and phone company and explain that I can't come in today with a payment or do my regular online transfer to them. Of course they complain like I owe them money out of their own pockets. As if we don't have it hard enough. Waking up finding out your pay check is not in your account is not a good way to start the day. But yet when we owe the government money, they take it first chance they can, but when they owe us money.... they stall on paying us.. So now what about all the bounced checks or declined payment charges everyone is going to get. They aren't going to cover it. Luckily for me I wait till I have money. I don't believe in checks or pre authorized payments for a reason. Late fees are cheaper then bank fees. But some people can't get around that and will be stuck with new charges today, coming off the very small E.I check that is LATE! How many of us had to deal with this today. This isn't even my check, It is for my bf but it still messes with our whole house hold.

Yes that happened to my husband once. And now he is at 4 days a week at work. So he is going to look to work somewhere else after his vacations. Yes it happens to us on and off to not have the funds to pay some bills which is not a good position to be in. The payment of the taxes came out just when there was nothing left in the account, and what I do not like is that they make you pay $ 40.00 if your check bounce which doesn't make sense, because if you don't have cash taking more money out will not help to have more money in your account, isn't it? Think that the government is not there to help you either. On welfare even if you have a family of 7 like mine, the last time we needed help, they gave us only $ 232.00 for the month for our expenses,so me my husband tought we are going to starve on that for sure. And what about the dentist we need to borrow money to have only one of our kids to have his teeth fixed, anyway, have a good day.

i live in the US,and my state is 7 weeks behind in their unemployment payments. quite a few people are now homeless because of them.they really should have some kind of "in process" voucher for these people so at least maybe interest could be suspended with these companies. it's the state's fault they're behind, the people shouldn't have to suffer for it.
