If you are unemployed how do you spend your day?

I wasn't laid off like so many have been lately. However, I haven't been working due to illness. Some days I am very bored, while other days I go to doctor appts., watch tv, read, write, crochet, and go to support groups. Yet, I often wonder how do others spend their time - if they aren't working. Maybe if I love to watch soap operas or a lot of tv that would help. I have always worked and I just don't see how you don't get bored. If I was off on a cruise or vacation, maybe I would feel different.

i have been at home for half year.because i have quit a terrible job and havn't found a suited job for a while, but for me it was so boring to stay at home without any earning.it was a unhappy time to me ,i really didn't know what i should do at home,it would be better to watch soap operas and it's easy to goof a whole day.

hi tiffanymarie, I'm a housewife with 5 children at school and 1 at home. I have to stick to a schedule during my day or else I end up being a couch potato in front of the tv lol. Mondays I have a good tidy up all over the house ready for the week, do the washing and usually bake something nice in the afternoon. Tuesdays I take my little one for a walk to the local library and back..that usually fills all morning, then I spend the afternoon going though my kitchen cupboards and writing a menu plan and shopping list for Wednesday..and on Wednesday I spend all morning out shopping (and washing in the machine)and in the afternoon after tidying the food away I have my tv time :) Then on thursday I visit my Grandma in the morning (walking again to fill the time up/get exercise lol) then I fill that afternoon with more baking and usually sewing/crafting. Then fridays, I take my boy to a mother and toddlers in the morning (while washings in the machine lol)and I tidy the house in the afternoon ready for the weekend. Slotted in between on these days is computer time usually first thing in the morning and while tea is cooking, reading time in the car whilst waiting for the kids to come out of sschool and me time...somewhere in there lol :)
