Gran Torino

We spent our weekend searching for Gran Torino after it's release to DVD. We finally got hold of a copy and watched. It was hilarious as well as serious in subject matter. I think that Clint Eastwood made a great film. If this is his final film in his lifetime, he can leave the profession proudly!! I wish it were possible that a person could get things settled that way and so unselfishly. The likelihood of having that happen in real life are pretty slim and it didn't answer what people in the real world could do to stop the gang problems, but it was a good way to address the issue and what some people may have to deal with. What do you all think about it?

There's no doubt that this is the greatest film he ever made in holywood. I saw the movie thrice already and I never got tired watching it. The film is very meaningful and it shows a lot of good values to remember. It has been a box office film and it was all worth it. Its so amazing that that film had shown a reality in life. Like his children gotten too much selfish of his belongings and didn't bother to care about his health and that happens in most people. What made it the best is that the person whom he once hated are the only people who had cared for him too much. It simply shows lessons to be learned in life.

I haven't seen it yet and probably won't till it comes to a channel that's free but if Clint Eastwood is in it, I usually try to see it. And to think he started out in "Rawhide" tv series and "spaghetti westerns"! What a handsome young man he was and what a handsome old man he is! And talent!

dragon, you HAVE to see this movie! Better than awesome, in my opinion! BUT, don't eat while watching it because you'll laugh so hard in some scenes that food will shoot across the room, and don't see it without a box of tissues handy! It stirs up immense emotions! Absolutely EXCELLENT movie!

Yes, he has an amazing lists of movie credits to his name. And he wasn't ever afraid to keep things mixed up. He could go from Westerns to Love stories to Astronaut movies and now to current issues. Amazing credits to his name!! Hooray for this man!

I just saw the movie yesterday for the first time. AWESOME!!! I honestly believe that this was Clint Eastwood's BEST role... by far! I was in tears at one point. I know that you know which part I'm talking about. I won't mention it in case someone reads this who hasn't seen it yet but wants to. I laughed many times throughout the movie because of his character. I cried at the total lack of selfishness he showed! The ultimate act of friendship! I also laughed at the expressions on certain character's faces at the reading of the will. Just shows what a selfish attitude will get you! I can honestly say that this is THE best movie I've seen in a very long time!

Yes, it was an excellent movie. I took my father out to dinner for fathers day and my brother and I asked my father if he saw it. He said no and he didn't want to. When we asked him why, he wouldn't answer. I think he heard what the movie was about and is afraid his prejudice attitude would get in the way or something. Not sure. But yes, great movie! Thanks for the comment!

I haven't seen this movie and I probably won't anytime soon because I have such an extremely, very long list of movies queued already from Netflix.

You are missing a greata movie then. I would add it to the top of your list :-)
