It has been popular now in my country the philippines, the patriotic dress or prints of the map of our country on the shirt, sandals, hats, and etc. It was quite popular already on the youth about 2 or 3 years ago. It was designed and started mostly by a popular singer or Rapper here who became famous 2 decades ago because of his song showing his love for country. Then he went to make or designs patriotic dresses and lots of imitation can be seen on the street. People just mi THen last year the rapper or singer died of cancer. His death just made people realize the importance of the message of his song before and so they greatly or more appreciate now the patriotic dresses he design and sell in his own shop. and now even top designers are making patriotic dresses and even in big malls are now selling these which were not been common before. only the rapper or singer sell this patriotic dress. And so before only youth buy this mostly now it is more acceptable for all ages. and people like to wear this dress. and they are proud of our country. i think that his death opened the eyes of our people that we need to be proud of country and accept who we are and our identity.

I do like to wear patriotic clothing on the patriotic holidays. I have an outfit that I used to wear on The Fourth of July, but it doesn't fit any more :-( I'm actually getting a tattoo in 2 weeks that has the flags colors in it. I've wanted it for 8 years. So, I'll be wearing something patriotic every day!

Wearing patriotic clothing is in today. Many are fond of wearing it which is for me is good for loving our country. The designs is fantastic and very beautiful. Adidas stops making jacket of our flag because our government banned it.

I love the people of our country, but I'm so very NOT patriotic! I used to be but, since learning how our government treats us as individuals, rather how they refuse to treat us as individuals, I've become very anti-government. I worked for almost 40 years of my life and paid in Social Security taxes all that time. Social Security is SUPPOSED to be there when we need it. I've needed it for nine years now. Seven years ago, I applied for Disability and it has been an insane struggle! Seven years of waiting, not being able to work and hearing the government tell me that there's no reason why I can't work when over 10 doctors have said that I can't work. Our government refuses to see what's under their noses. I've heard horror stories about people dying while waiting to get Disability benefits from our government! No, our government does not care about the people; they care only about the money they can take from the people. At income tax time, if they owe us money, they'll get it to us when they get around to it, without any penalties or interest if it's late in getting to us. But, if we owe them, they start tacking on penalties and interest immediately if you can't pay right away. That is so not fair! Maybe, if I haven't been having such a horrible time trying to get the disability benefits I've needed so desperately, I'd feel differently, but you won't see me wearing our colors or waving a flag!

hi. i share your frustration and dismay with most politicians and officials who run the government. But have hope. Not everyone in there are greedy and corrupt. Let's just hope that one day, those people will have the power to change things. Im not as optimistic as i sound because I deal with government officials (both national and local level) in and outside of work. It's frustrating to see their agenda behind some projects they do and yet, you couldn't do anything about it. But then again, there are still people who stay in their job with vision and passion for true service. They're my source of inspiration. They are usually behind the limelight and publicity. The system is messed up that way. I have my complaints with incomppassionate government workers who process papers and requests of people like us. Another insight - the bulk of the taxpayers' money come from the middle class but most government projects are directed to alleviate poverty, hence benefiting the poor (who mostly dont pay taxes and are on the streets rallying and complaining). even the benefits or loan rights (of gsis or other agencies for the working class) are not given properly. as much as I want to lessen poverty, i would like to experience government benefits as much as they (the poor) do. Anyway, for me, our patriotism or love for this country shouldn't be faltered by what the government is or is not doing for us. its inherent. i was out of the country for 4months in 2007 . i guess my 'patriotism' surfaced after that experience. i was able to appreciate the little things that i usually take for granted in my home country. they say that you'd be able to appreciate where you come from once you have traveled outside of that place. i guess that's true. ever since, i've been supporting local made clothes with patriotic designs or even souvenir clothing that indicates it came from the philippines. i've also been sending items like that for friends who don't live here. i guess it's part of my advocacy to promote the country. i may have my share of frustration and 'shame' in some filipinos but its better to highlight (but not sugarcoat) the good things . there are a lot!

I like wearing dress and shirts showing patriotism. I like most the collezione brand that has the map of the Philippines embroidered to it. Looks classy yet comfy.

Philippine Patriot - Be One of Us.. Be a Philippine Patriot
I have not actually worn a what you call a patriotic shirt or dress but I considered a taught of wearing one of these days.. I can say that the Filipino now are becoming more aware of the problems and solutions in our beloved country Philippines.. I hope that wearing these so called patriotic shirts and dresses (shirts that have designs like the Philippine flag and Philippine archipelago) are more than the outside.. It should reflect us from inside out.. Being to be proud as Filipino's a and being able to take part in building a better Philippine Nation..

I like wearing team manila shirts, their designs are really cool, showing the filipino culture, but not overdoing it. Plus, I like the fit of their shirts.. makes me look sexier. LOL!
