I let a stray cat come into my house, she was undernourshed and looked to be in rough shape. I thought that she may need a good home and since I have a heart for all animals great and small, I thought I would help her out. But instead she has tough me one of the hardest lessons in life, she had 6 kittens and two of the did not live, But thats not where it stops because of the fact that she was so frail when she had the litter she was going to abandon all of them, I realize what it take now for a mother cat to take care of babies. As I have taken the newborn kittens and are trying to give them a chance in life. How many will make it, I cant say, but if just 1 lives i will be happy. I guess what they say about the joys of taking care of babies holds true even if it is just kittens.

I have always had a thing for animals, and I think I got my first kitten when I was about 5. Ever since then I was always the one to bring home strays wanting to know if I could keep them. If my father would have agreed to keeping all of them we would have had too many to count. Thanks for your encouragement.

Poor little mamma cat. It is terrible that some people (perhaps the former owner) are so uncaring as to not nourish the precious life of a cat. We humans have domesticated cats so much over the years that they depend on us to help them with food. If momma cat has survived, please make sure to feed her as best as you can, kitten food would help. You can also buy vitamins (liquid or gel) from a pet store to help her immunity. If momma is unable to nurse the kittens, then need special milk for the first few weeks in order to survive. You have to get it at the pet store. KMR milk replacer is the best to use. The kittens have to be fed many times a day. Kittens get cold easily and need to be in a warm place at all times. When momma is healthier, please get her spayed. One litter is plenty enough kids for a cat but it is even better to spay before a cat gets pregnant. The kittens can be spayed or neutered at about 4 to 6 months. Loving animals can always hurt, especially when you lose them. God bless all those babies and the momma and you for being so loving towards them. I hope they all grow big and strong. You did the right thing. Momma really needed and needs your help!

I have already gone and bout the necessary supplies to feed the kittens, but I also have found out that I am going to have a lot of sleepless nights. It is sad how we take things out of their habitat and then don't take care of them.
