Well it is now June 17th and we have 2 more months before our lease is up. We have lived in this place for 3 years. We pay 425.00 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment with no yard what so ever. The toilet does not flush unless we fill up buckets of water and the cooking stove is a old fashion stove with 4 small burners and the oven only can hold one baking dish at a time. We were suppose to get a full size stove before we moved in and it did not happen. I of course just bite my tongue and deal with it because I figure it is place to live. The worst of it all is that we live on the main street with 2 toddlers and have no yard. We have a leak and to me it is just not worth it so we decided that this is the last lease we signing. We found a house that might be available at the time we are going to move. The guy that owns the house also owns a couple apartments buildings. What is even better about this guy is that he told my hubby that if we rent the house that if anything ever needs fixed we could fix it ourselves and have it taken off the rent or he will be there the next available business day. Now that is the type of landlord we need. This house he said is 3-4 bedrooms and has 2 bathrooms. Plus he is a landlord that is willing to take payments for the security deposit. We have met the landlord before when we were looking at his apartment for rent. He is a super landlord and he is the type that cares about his buildings. Now the thing is that the house will be 600.00 a month. My hubby brings home just a little over 1,000 a month for wages. He said that when it opens that he wants us to go for it. I think it is a great idea because at least there will be a yard and it will be off the main drag. I am starting to dread over the fact if we could make it work. He said that we should be able to do it by taking 300.00 out of each check and putting it up for the rent and then use the rest for bills and household needs. He brings home 549.42 every 2 weeks soon will be around 600.00 with the over time that he is getting back so yes it could work out since we only pay 25.00 a month for gas because we are on a budget plan and 35.00 a month for electric. Now there will also be the garbage and water that we will be paying too. If everything works out right my brother will be staying with us and I figure we would split the rent. So it will be easier for us to pay the bills. I will only be asking him to pay 300.00 which is half because he only gets SSI which in my opinion is not bad. So what do you all think, is my hubby right about being able to do it if we jump on the deal and is it worth 600.00 a month for a 4 bedroom house that has 2 bathrooms? I have never rented a house before. The only thing that ever came close was a trailer but I did not work I stayed home and kept it clean and all to live there with the person. So any info that you could give me would be great.

I guess it depends on the location. Here in California, more specifically the Sacramento area, rent can range anywhere from $1000 to $3000 a month for a 4 bedroom 2 bath house, at least by what I noticed online.
My family and I rent a 3 bedroom 2 bath, but pay less than average thanks to the landlord's family being old friends of the family. We do pay for certain things that may otherwise be part of a rental agreement without a reduction in rent, but we get a good deal on rent so in the end it's still worth it.

Then I would not have a single clue then...lol. I live in a small community where there are not many businesses and very few stores but with many churches and a few bars. Do you know if there might be someplace online to look? It's good that you and your family got it for a reasonable price per month. Cause I was told living in that area can be really pricey.
