Hi mylotters! It does'nt matter if it's furniture, an antique, electronic, a car, a memory, whatever etc...... What is the oldest thing you own?, why do you still have it? or why cant you get rid of it? I'm only in my 20's so my things are'nt that long ago. The oldest thing I own is a onesie that my mom saved from when I was a baby. In fact it is the only thing that I have from that time besides a few pictures. That is why it is so precious to me and have alwasy taken good care of it. Thanks for any responses in advance and happy mylotting!

I will say, the photo collection which my grandmother was having. Which was then given to me. She gave me when I was 8 years old. I had a class project about 'family-tree'. She was amazed of how I took care of things and she said I can have them. Yes, I'm keeping it so carefully till date. I lost my grandmother 5 years ago, but I see her in all these collections! Miss my grandma!!

What is an ‘onesie’? Well, I do have pics from my baby days but they are more of my mom’s possession. My oldest possession has got to be a soft toy! I don’t even remember my age when I got it…it was a gift from my Dad. Well, dad used to stay abroad and whenever he came visiting, he would bring those lovely dolls for me…golden hair, blue eyes, pretty pink dress and white shoes…I would ‘play’ with them so much that within a few weeks, they were naked and ready for the dissection table LOL…somehow one soft toy survived the operation onslaught. Maybe coz it was a soft toy, maybe coz it’s a mix between a bear and a human, maybe coz its woolly and fuzzy and has its tongue sticking out…whatever be the reason, Bhuto survived! He’s still there, occupying pride of place in my drawing room, even my son knows how previous Bhuto is to me…

I have a few things but I think the oldest is a green creamer thing that they used in the old days with their tea and coffee. My gramma gave it to me and it was I think her grammas. Not totally sure just know it goes back a few generations. =D I also have a pic of me when I was a baby so it is about 43 years old. Next would be some old books that I have. Never realized that I have so many old things ..LOL! Can we count the hubby? Hehee

The oldest thing I own is the photo album.. It is a album that I had when I was in 2nd year college.. It stores some of my old ugly pictures, LOL. But I don't have plans of throwing it away because it always reminds me of the past.. =) The other thing is my red mango bag.. I bought it in Hongkong 5 years ago.. It's always been my favorite bag.. I am still using it right now..

A picture of me when I was still a baby 38 years ago LOL. CAn't be thrown away because it's the only one and those who see the picture are wondering who is the baby. Well, the pic is in the family album really. The one thing also which I own which is very old is a set of stationery way back in fifth grade. I still have some of these cute scented papers which I got swapping with classmates. I did not throw it or use it because I forgot about it and discovered it again when I was doing some cleaning and well I don't want to throw it away.

Two special rings that were my great grandmother's. One has a large pure silver ball on top of a fancy, heavy, gothic looking silver setting. The other is a clear, black stone on a heavy, swirled silver setting. I have a lot of jewelry passed down to me by my ancestors. At least 100 years old, in the family line. I also had an antique mirror that belonged to them. It was large and in the shape of a wave. But it broke. I hope to pass items down to my descendents.

I have two very old tins which contained toffees. They date back to over 100 years ago. Each one belonged to each of my grandmothers and as a child I can remember that they each used them to keep biscuits (cookies) fresh. I asked to have them and I treasure them and are some of the very few things I brought with me from UK when I moved here to Italy. One of them is a little bashed on one side but they take pride and place here as I can remember where they were originally and have great memories connecte to both of them.

The only thing that is old with me is a collection of old coins of the Philippines dated from 1948. I have this from my grandmother and I kept it because it can be a collectors item now a days.

I own a piano that was made in the 1880s. My mother and my sister and I bought it when I was still at home about 50 years ago. It's an old player piano, but the player part has been taken out.
