Enter the university

We have an NCEE during my time but now it has a different name.I t was said that only those who pass can go to college.Then each universities in the Philippines has entrance exaMS to be admitted.I took only the UPCAT which is the entrance test to U.P.(University of the Philippines).For me then , I would go only to U.P or I wouldn't go anywhere else

Hello, it italy it works in a slightly different way, there are some faculties that have a limited number of student per year, for those it is needed to pass a test and only those who are in the top results can enter that faculty in that university. For many other faculties there is no test needed, just having the high school degree. I didn't have to make a test to enter the university but i have many friend that study different things that had to take it.

In my country,you have to pass and score a good result during pre-U examination in order to have higher chance to enter local universities. After you get the examination result, you can apply for courses which your result meet the requirement. If the course you apply is a popular course like medicine, you have to compete with other applicants in terms of result and extra curricular. Result will carry higher weight compared to extra curricular. If you all share the same result, extra curricular will be compared. Let say after compare both results and extra curricular, you all still have the same points after all calculation had been done, then high school's examination results will be compared to determine who are able to get a seat in universities. Of course, if you have very good result and you apply for course which is not popular, you are actually almost confirmed a seat in universities. Like your case, i think universities in your country would like to get those top student. However, if just base on a test to determine the best is kind of unfair. I do think that some of the good students might be not able to do well once in a while. If because of this they lose the chance to enter university will consider a waste. Anyway, all the best to you. It's the same as here before entering the University you need to pass the entrance exam. Lucky me that I passed hehehe ^^

lol, at first, i think competition is a must because of chance is not enough. every year, lots of students compete for few chances into high school through an exam called NCEE(national college entrance examination) in my country. this exam can decide your future, you will enter college if you get a good mark, certainly it accounted for a few people . the rest may rejoined the competition next year again,or they search for jobs ahead of time. anyway,this is the only way of enrolling excellent talented person now,i think. but things will be fine, more and more chances are offered by govenment
