In the 80's there was this great movie called Mask. In it, a boy is describing all this very visual stuff to a girl who's been blind since birth. She points out that she has no idea what those colors are. To help her understand he gets a bunch of stones and gives them to her. One's been boiling in a pot -- it's red, when it cools down it'll be pink. One was in the freezer -- blue. The one in the fridge was green. I thought that it was a brilliantly done scene, but it's also a very good way to illustrate colors to people who can't see them and have never seen them so they have no reference. For yellow, I would use the feeling of the sun shining down on you. For grey, the feeling when the sun goes behind a cloud. For white, I would say the smell of clean clothes, fresh out of the dryer. They don't have the sense of sight, so find other things that make you think of those colors when you experience them with your other senses. What do you smell that makes you think of the color black? Is it the smell of coffee brewing? Or perhaps the taste of a licorice stick? Is blue the sensation of moving with the ocean tide when you're at the beach? Maybe it's the sound of the rain falling. Close your eyes and use your other senses. You'll find answers.
