That depends on what kind of books that you like, I have Laurell K.Hamilton's Anita Blake series, But Kay Hopper has three trilogies out the first has Shadows in the title. the second has Evil, the third has Fear and the neat thing is that all nine books are connected.

For American history John Jakes has 2 really good series's of books, North and South about the American Civil War and The Americans which which I recall has 8 books in the series. For something lighter I enjoyed Annie Hawes books about living in Italy which start with her first book ' Extra Virgin'. I love the way that with a series even when you have finished one book and wished you hadn't the story carries on into the next books. Another really good series in the Winston Graham set of the Poldark novels set in Cornwall, they give a really good feel for English history. I recommend all 3 authors highly.
