Here in the UK we celebrate mothers day in March/April time. It was on 22nd March this year and fathers day is in June. Fathers day is this Sunday coming.(21st June)

In the United states Mother's Day is in May also. But Father's Day is in June.
I wonder why it is different around the world??

In America, Mother's day falls in the middle of May, on a Sunday and Father's Day is about a month later, falling in the middle of June on a Sunday. I am curious as to how you celebrate both holidays in your country. On Mother's Day, there are bar-b-q's going on but mostly, people take their mom out to lunch. Restaurants are FULL everywhere. Mom's get flowers and sometimes candy. Gifts can really vary but flowers are a big item! On Father's Day, just about everyone in America bar-b-q's - it's the thing to do ... a man thing! And although Dad gets a gift, it might not always be as special as Mom's gift would be. Dad's usually get something practical for the garden, the backyard kitchen or maybe tickets to a sporting event.
