Check out this pile that's to be burned, in fact, hubby just started burning it a few minutes ago. The wood is soaking sopping wet from so much rain but with gas, it'll eventually lite up, take hold, dry and burn to ashes. It's what we took out yesterday alone from two huge piles!! It's about 10 - 12 trips with the "wagon" on the back of each of our ATV's. A LOT of wood!! And that's just in ONE day!! Now many of you know we've been working in the woods for months and months and I just can't believe that we've finally finished it!! YIPPEEEEEE!! There's more to be done, A LOT more but hubby is going to work on other projects first before doing more there. We want to get all of the dead trees down first then we're going to take down all of the pines. It's going to take A LOT of time, probably a few years before we finish with that but still, at least one HUGE job is done!! We're so happy!!
Now that hubby is onto other projects and a friend of his is going to help, I can FINALLY catch up with you all!! I'm soooo far behind in mylot discussions (my dear friends!) that I want to at least give it a try to catch up so please bear with me if I'm a little late (yikes!) lol I haven't forgotten you!! Just been soooo busy with caring for my parents, the woods, and with life in general that I've gotten so far behind here. Something had to give and unfortunately it was mylot this time. My house even suffered till last weekend, I hadn't cleaned my house in a month!! A MONTH I tell you!! UGH!! Of course we've done some spot cleaning here and there but a good thorough cleaning was what it needed and finally got last weekend. Hopefully now I can keep up with that. lol
So have you been working on a big project around your place? If you have, what is it and how is it coming along?

Good for y'all, I know that has got to be a relief. I hate things hanging over me that need to be done. Thank heavens i don't have any big projects like that, i couldn't handle them if i did. Enjoy being able to do those kind of things while u can. It can all change in a hurry, believe me. Hope your folks are feeling better.

Yesssss it is a relief!! A huge one at that!! To finally have a few projects done now is such a wonderful feeling, indescribable feeling!! Hubby built a deck for the pool and finished the back of the house deck and put on sliding gates to keep Toby, our 4 month old german shepherd off so he won't tear up the outdoor carpet that's on the deck plus we cut down some pines beside our driveway (We hate pines!) and spruced it up a bit and who knows what else.... lol
Mom isn't feeling good today and is really depressed because she's so dizzy and is getting right upset about it. The patches that she's using are $10. a patch and only last 2 or 3 days. They helped at first but now not as much as they first did. She only has two more left and no prescription insurance so I offered to buy her next set and she said no. She's trying to get in with her neurologist earlier than her August appointment and so far hasn't been able to. I offered to come up and help her with what ever she needs doing and she said she already had her bed made and cat box scooped and had her shower, all that's left is cleaning her kitchen which will only be about 10 minutes and she'll be done and will lay down on the couch for the rest of the day. She hates being lazy but hasn't a choice because she's so dizzy. I offered to come up every day to do those things for her but she doesn't want me to drive that far every day. ARG!! I'm at a loss at what to do to help her.

By the way, I read what you wrote on the picture!! LOL Hubby has a new camera and I'm not sure how to use it with the timer and besides, he was busy with the fire pit so I took the picture of the wood pile myself with our old camera BUT, here's the most recent one of us that he took with his new camera.... Now I'm just in my house clothes which are very relaxing.... lol

Hi Cats,
How do you manage to do so much? That pile of wood is incredible. You don't look big enough to do that kind of work.
With all the projects you and hubby have going on, I'm surprised you can even manage to take time out for Mylot!! How many acres do you guys have? Don't worry about catching up. Just do what you have time for. Don't hurt yourself out in them thar woods. Hugsssss

Oh ask away!! I don't mind at all! lol
Mom is still in some pain and at times the pain grabs her really hard and she holds her arm across her chest and hollers out "Oh!" Now she has diarrhea which dad had a few days ago but is doing better, not up to par yet but better and mom is worse. She's really weak right now from that so I gave her some gatorade in hopes to help her replenish what she lost.
Thanks for your sweet words!! I try to be a good daughter even considering our past. We've had it quite rough there for a while but it's gotten so much better now but still I don't trust her like I'd like to but I still love her very much. She told me last week, I believe, when I was vacuuming her house that she knows she'll never be able to repay us for what we've done and I told her that I'm not doing it for repayment but to see her happy and feel comfortable knowing her home is clean. I mean that too. Neither one of us, hubby and I do it for fame or to get a pat on our backs, we do it because we care and love her and dad very much. I think she's realizing all she thought and felt for me over the years was wrong but I do wonder too that "What would happen if we disagreed on something" Oh boy.... Not a thought I'd want to venture into.
I've got a wonderful and very loving hubby! He's the greatest and I mean that sincerely!! We've been married for 17 years, 18 come August. I'm 44 and he's 49. I wouldn't trade him for anything in this world! lol
BTW, I started another discussion on my parents for fathers day, check it out!
Hugssss!!

Hey Sweetie,
I meant to ask how your Mom's broken ribs are doing. She and your Dad are so lucky to have you and your hubby. Actually I hope they appreciate your hubby for all he does for them. He obviously loves you very much. How long have you two been married? Sorry about all the questions, but seeing your picture made me think of all the posts you've written about your family.

I am so glad you are getting caught up. It will make you feel better. Do you have houseguests or did they not come?

That is sad that the kids have to suffer. It has to be very disappointing to them and you.

We were getting our three God kids for the summer as we always do but their mother doesn't have the funds to bring them up till next month, or so she says. I think she's trying to milk us for some money and it's not going to happen. As much as we want to see them, we're not forking out any more money or clothes or anything else because of the things she's done in the past to us is unforgivable but on the same token, it's the kids who really suffer, not her but we're at our whits end with the mothers actions and don't know what else to do. She promises these kids this and that and next to never follows through. It's really sad. I told her we had a lot planned for this summer with the kids which will be much better than the last time they were here when we didn't have any money and now she pulls this crap. That's ok, when the kids turn 18, their mother will finally know what I feel for her.

Our village had an Open Garden Day last weekend and much activity went on beforehand to get everything presentable.
It was a great success and the weather was fine for once which made the day.
After all the hard work it was worth it but we all enjoyed a bit of a rest afterwards.
Sounds like you need a reast too?

An Open Garden Day sounds like a lot of fun! Cool! Did you buy some veggies? I know I'd have a handful of tomatoes for I love to eat them raw with a sprinkle of salt. My grandmother used to do that and I being just a kid thought she'd lost her mind!! lol I've gotten my rest that I've needed for a while in the past two days and now I'm ready to get back up and head back outside to do some more work that needs doing. Hubby will be working on other projects while I'll be going down the property line cleaning it up. lol Work work work!! Always something to do around here!

Sometimes I wonder too ElicBxn. I really do but then again, I have a husband who helps quite a bit so it's why I'm able to get as much done as I do but sometimes I wish I could do more. Being so busy like this, something had to give and it was my house and mylot for the most part but I got caught up with my house last weekend and don't need to do it again until next weekend but gosh, I'm soooo far behind in mylot that it'll take me a few days to get caught up but I WILL get caught up one way or another. I hate neglecting my friends!! You all have been so supportive of me during my rough times and continuing rough times as they arise and I want to do the same.

I guess the only big project that I have been working on this year is the garden. I have lived in my house for four years and have never done a thing to it other than keep the weeds back. This year however I have planted some flowers and really made an effort with the garden. I go out there once a week, sweep it all and pull all the weeds up. Unfortunately in two weeks I have to go into hospital for an operation so all my hard work may go to waste as I will be off my feet for some time, but I shall threaten my hubby to look after it because my children have got their sunflowers planted in it and if they die he WILL be in BIG trouble hahaha!!

Oh man, surgery in two weeks? What for, if I may ask? I'm really sorry to hear that and hope it all goes well for you! I'm sure your hubby will keep up the hard work if you ask him to but I'm sure he'll be more worried about you and your health and trying to keep up with the household so he'll be really tired so try not to be too angry if he doesn't get to your garden. I'll bet he'll try his best though. Good luck to you my friend!!

Its all to do with a hysterectomy I had 2 years ago, things have gone a little pear shaped with it and so they have to put it right. Unfortunately my consultant does not know what exactly he will have to do until I am on the table so I could be down there for ages. I have to go for my pre op assessment this monday so its all a bit scary right now!

It looks good to me!
I have many unfinished projects around the house for months. I promise myself to take an action and finish everything, but I work long hours and in the end of the day I am very tired. Weekends are always busy, maybe in the month or so I will be able to do more...

That's how we were for a long time, start one project and couldn't finish it and then start another and something ELSE would come up. It was frustrating as all get out but we stuck to the projects that were already started before going on making new ones till we finished them and now we're caught up.... finally! But you know, if hubby and I worked like you do, we wouldn't be as far along as we are now so give yourself some credit where it's due because at least you're trying!! Like my mom says, Rome wasn't built in a day so neither will any of our projects but especially when having a job to go to every day.
