How Old Were You When You Drank Your First Cup Of Coffee??

I was around 14 years old when my Morfar (Danish for Mom's Dad) offered me a cup of coffee at dinner one night. I tasted it with milk and sugar, and decided I liked it. As i got older I decided to use less milk and sugar, and I still liked it. Now I drink either plain black coffee, or a mocha latte from Second Cup, or other similar coffee shops. How old were you when you had your first cup of coffee?

I am not completely sure of when I had my cup of coffee. I do know that I used to love coffee until I was about 19 years old. I used to drink an expresso at each break in high school and university, and then one day I woke up and didn't like it anymore. Very strange. I don't drink coffee ever since them. Still enjoy the smell and all, but can't seem to like the taste of coffe. I don't even eat cakes or ice cream that have coffee flavor.

I am turning 30 in July and I have NEVER had a cup of coffee. I have tried it, though, and honestly... I hate the stuff and can't stand it! I've even tried putting a little in my hot chocolate and all it did was ruin my hot chocolate. I don't even like the smell of it. I'm alright with this, though, because I don't need that caffeine addiction nor do I need or want that NEED for a cup of coffee to get and keep me going during the day.

I was somewhere around the age of 6 or 7, could've been younger, I'm not exactly sure. I always watched my mom and dad drink it, and I told my dad one day, "I want a cup." He smiled and brought me one. It was of course, not too hot at all just right, and had milk and sugar in it. As I got older, I believe it was one morning on the way to school, my mom had me hold her coffee for a moment. :) I took a sip and she of course, used less sugar and less milk than dad had used in mine. So, I ended up enjoying it, and I started drinking it more. I believe I was at least 11 or 12. Now, I drink it every morning. I try to hold back, but I just can't function without it lol. I love the french vanilla cappucinos, I haven't tried anything else, but would love to someday.

I was a young teen when I decided I wanted a cup of my dad's coffee. THAT was a mistake! He likes his coffee strong, full of caffeine, and sugar-free. I thought it was absolutely disgusting and overloaded it with sugar and milk. THEN I liked it! I have since learned that coffee is not for the faint of heart. I'm not even used to drinking soft drinks, so caffeine has a big effect on me. When I do drink coffee, it is usually a cappuccino or something like that, and I tend to ask for decaf.

this is a very interesting question and its nice that you exactly remember at what age you drank your first cup of coffee. There will be few people who will remember that as for me i guess i started much earlier than your age. As we live in a very cold place so coffee is something that is a must and i guess i started at a very early age. And it must have been from the home only as during kids we don't go out much for dinners or drinks.

I was very very young, i was 6 years old when my brother gave me a cup of coffee that had a bunch of chocolate syrup in it, since it had so much chocolate in it, i loved it and drank it all up, and I think that was the most hyper that I have ever been in my life until I started drinking Red Bull 14 years later

I think I was 11 and I was trying to be cool, it didn't work. I put sugar, sweet n low, salt, pepper, honey and anything I could find in it to kill the coffee taste. It didn't work and I have never ever tried coffee again. I do like to walk down the fresh bean aisle in the market though, it smells great but to me it tastes terrible.

Maybe 11 years old, I can't really remember it. I started to drink coffee and didn't bother it would affect my sleeping, as I can sleep very well after drinking coffee.

I was very young,6 or 7, and remember hating it...Growing up my tastes changed and became intrigued with coffee flavors. Around 14 I began drinking coffee regularly, flavored with a lot of cream and sugar. As time went on I remember using less and less of both (cream and sugar) and experimenting with the multitude of flavors put out there. Now at 22 I enjoy a perfect cup of dark roast "black". Cream seems to make the coffee sour and sugar makes the after taste more bitter. It's pretty interesting how taste buds change and different flavors become more favorable.

My parents were both coffee drinkers and I can remember tasting theirs, but not when I first did. I STILL don't like drinking coffee! I do like most coffee flavored things......ice cream, candies, milk shakes, etc. One of my favorite drinks is the mocha shakes at Arby's and I also love the coffee toffee frosty that they started for a limited time at Wendy's. But I do not drink coffee.

to be honest i do not remember when my first cup was but it feels like i have been drinking it regularly forever. i love my coffee. more for taste than any other reason as it does not do much to wake me up or give me energy as other seem to claim it does for them. if i had to guess i would say it was when i started working in an acutal office setting so perhaps i was 18 or 19 years old.

I had my first cup I believe when I was 11 or 12. If I had one sooner then that I dont recall it. I tried it while at church. I always seen other people drink it so I wanted to try it. I use to load it with creamer and sugar. Now I only use a little creamer and one scoop of splenda.

I drank my first cup of coffee in a cafe when i was 25 years old, two years after i graduated form university, my friend invited me to that cafe. I'm from China and coffee was not much popular in my country at that time, that was the only one cafe in my city, so i have a deep memory of that. I forgot the name of the coffee, just remember it's from Italy and tastes quite bitter. Now i like going to cafe with my friends, not because of coffee, but because of the ambience there.
