I've read in an article that baking soda is great in cleaning, and it's also used in whitening teeth, is this effective? i want to try something that's economical and easy to find because i know that teeth whiteners are expensive especially if provided by the dentist.

You may have to use it for a few times before you see a difference, but yes, it's definitely effective. Just put a little pile in your hand, wet your toothbrush, dip into the soda and brush.

Oh, I should say it depends if your teeth are just stained by food and beverage or if they're damaged by medication or minerals in the water. Soda will remove the stains, but if the enamel is damaged I don't know if it will work or not.

I have tried using baking soda to whiten teeth. It was effective, really. My only concern was the taste...if you can withstand it, then do you.
