It was my hubby's birthday yesterday, I have saved some money and thought about having a nice dinner with him last night but since our financial situation is quite tight and hubby said he doens't feel right to hav nice dinner seeing we don't have extra to be doing that; so we ended up gooing to PapaGino's to get pizza and ice cream, we bought it home and played online poker together! It was good though because he is simple, pizza, fishing, playing cards make him happy enough! And it was his first birthday that we got to be together so we enjoyed it very much:-) I have bought couple shirts for him and I made our pictures, cut them into little size, put them in a frame, I think it is very cute and he likes it! I'm very happy about that! What's happier to see your loved one smile?:-D (By the way, the picture in the middle is my puppy, he was laughing BIG!!! hehe^_^) So what did you do for your birthday lasy year? Did you have a good moment?

Well my birthday was forgot by everyone that I was living with so it was last minute, they tried..I just wish the date of my birthday could just be erased off the calendar... It would be a lot easier for everyone else they wouldn't have to remember.. Do not get me wrong.. I am usually a simple person the littlest things are the most special for me.. One year I received a CD of one of my favorite bands... without having to remind the person that my birthday was coming up.. my auntie reminding him instead... what gets me is the fact that I can remember other people's birthdays is it asking too much to remember mine? I figure I am 27 now and well birthdays are just over rated.. I will still do for others because of the way I am.. but I do not think I am even going to mention it this coming year.. Screw it.. Then when it passes, and I go do something.. and someone asks why... oh ya it was my birthday last week.. I am sorry to just spout on your discussion, have an issue with my birthday... But I am very happy for you that you were able to make your hubby's birthday a special one

We had a simple dinner. my mom cooked my favorite food. Celebrating birthday could be done without spending too much. You just have to be creative. Moreover, giving gifts need not also be expensive. I came across this site, i think it would be helpful http://www.gifti.us

My last birthday was quite extraordinary one for me. For the first time in my life, I did one good thing during my last birthday. I donated 500$ to an orphanage in my country and i feel quite happy about it. I was on the top of the world after performing that activity and i was proud of myself. That is one of the most memorable things i did in my life. I would like to repeat what i did in my last birthday.

well my last birthday was something very special........because my last birthday was celebrated in a train.....actually i was on a study tour from my college.......and birthday was on the 3rd day of the tour and on that we had to travel by train fro about 36 hrs.......my friends about it but i never thought that they would arrange for cake in the train......i was sleeping in my berth at midnight they woke me up and first they wish me and then they removed the cake.....i was surprised with that.....we were singing songs the whole night.....as there were no other passengers in our compartment we had no problem......then the next day when we reached our destination they all brought a big cake in my hotel room and we celebrated again......it is also very special because it was my last birthday with my group....because after two days my group got split......

That was great you have a bonding time on his birthday. I am sure that will a great memory he can recall. As for me, what i did on my last birthday is that i only cooked a big lunch for the family and closest friends that i invited. Just only that. I really don't give too much preparation or parties on my birthday. I think for 29 years i only have one birthday that i really celebrate which i held at the beach with my co workers..not really a big one. Just the venue i like, we just bring foods and singing karaoke and of course swimming. Now my birthday is nearly coming and not sure if i am going to celebrate it as its reminding me that i am going to be 30, not yet married... phew! Well of course the only thing important is the good health so perhaps i will just go to church. have a nice day!

I did not do anything lol. It all went fine, friends greeted me, co-employee and family. My father cooked my fave dish which is Filipino dish. We are just in our house together, eating and watching television and little chit chat and joking around. I blew my cake and that's it. As we grow older our birthday celebration became simple and simple.

hi! nice to hear that you can celebrate yet remain practical and not splurge to have fun. a belated happy birthday for your husband. you have done a good job making it memorable. last year, i was on a field work during my birthday. we were a team of consultants and project members and travelled to far-flung communities. the bank owners that we were working with at the time surprised me with a seafoods galore for lunch and the staff treated me to a local videoke bar to have drinks and sing-along. as our tradition at home, even if the birthday celebrant isn't there, the rest of the family will still be celebrating. so most of my family members went home, cooked my favorite dishes and celebrated. it is still fun even if away from home, my cellphone was bombarded with well wishers and i was on the phone a lot because that's the way everybody is in the family... you get to receive at least a call from everyone of my siblings' family.

Well last year, my birthday was just an ordinary day to me. But I'm happy I'm with my family. I turned off my phone so that I won't expect a certain person to text me.. But my 18th birthday was one of the best, because everything I wished for was complete. I just won a writing competition, my brother, mom and some neighbor friends surprised me, mom congratulated me with my achievement, something she does not really do normally.. Everything was complete that time.. =D Also another memorable birthday for me was when we are financially down and my uncle surprised us by bringing foods and setting up the table and everything.. I thought they'd just get something from my mom but since I didn't expect it, it ended up as a one big surprise and I'm very happy they made an effort just to please me or make me happy that day. =D

I went for an outing with my wife and enjoyed a lot.. I got a new branded shirt and trouser .. Bought a new dress for my wife too (It happens sometimes, if you go for a dressing purchase for you, you will come out with another set for your partner...!!).. Got blessings from parents ... Went for a movie .. Came and slept early .. ! Nothing special more than this..!!

Personally, I prefer celebrating my birthday with only a few intimate friends and family. I don't like all those big parties. So for my last birthday, I just had a nice dinner with friends and family in a cozy nice restaurant. Sometimes, I just have my birthday at home and I just invite my friends over. What is important for me is that I get to spend my birthday with my best friends and my family.

Because my university is far away from home, so I spent my birthday every year only with my good friend Mickey, but still I got money from my parents, flowers from my boyfriend, and also gifts from my roomate. It's not special, but I still cherish that moment.
