In the 4th part Voldemort had taken Harry's blood to resurrect himself. So it is Harry's blood that runs through Voldemort's veins.Harry's blood has the protection provided by Lily's sacrifice. So Voldemort and Harry are linked by the same protection. So as long as Voldemort survives,Harry will survive.

Now that blood was inside Voldemort's body and indirectly he also get the protection so how can he be killed by harry.

I believe Harry did not die because he is the real owner of the Elder Wand (the wand used by Voldemort to curse him). What I understood about the Elder Wand is that only the real owner gets to use the wand properly with all its powers (or whatever). So, Harry owns the wand and he gets to be smug because it does not affect him. Stupid Voldemort should have used another wand or let his cronies curse Potter.

According to the book the concept was that you cant win a 'duel' with the owner of the elder wand but Harry was unarmed at the forest when voldy cursed him.
