I was so impressed with the airline crew who handled the death of their pilot in med flight with such calm that the passengers didn't know anything was wrong. This is the best advertising for that airline and the training they give their people. Can you visualize how hard it was for them to remove the dead pilot and get another in his seat, they then had to store the body, all this and it seems they never missed a beat. Thumbs up for those people

It takes special people to deal so well with certain situations and this was an example for sure. The crew are trained to keep calm during an emergency but something like this is pretty amazing; not only they had to be practical and handle the situation so that the plane could safely be landed and the passengers be kept unaware so as not to cause panic, but they just lost a co-worker! How difficult it would be to carry on with your job with the knowledge that someone you worked with and who was possibly a friend had just passed away and his body was stored somewhere on the aircraft. I agree with you pat, thumbs up to these remarkable people!

I don't know the whole story, but I know about the pilot with heart attack during the flight. All I know is that it happened in the cruise high over the Atlantic. I missed the story what exactly happened and how they handle the situation...

Everyone plays a role in this cynical world we are all living in.Pilot are cool indeed but don't you think other jobs are way cooler and have their stand too.I am not talking about doctors and engineers but jobs such as waiters, rubbish collectors and cleaners.Without them we, we would not get good services and better environment. Why not saying thank you to those who cleaned they toilet instead of insulting them.Without them, you will not even enjoy your cake making session in the toilet..

Yes savypat, The airline crew and the substitute pilot did the excellent job. They should be rewarded. This incident teaches us if we keep our mind and brain cool in any circumstance, we can overcome any problem. My homage to the deceased pilot who did his duty til his last breath.

Yes, I agree with you. The crew deserved all praise because they did not panic. If they panicked, they hid it very well. They behaved gracefully and discreetly. We can see that the passengers are their first concern because they did not want them to panic and worry needlessly. Kudos to these well-trained professionals who landed the airplane safely with every single person alive.

I would agree with you except for the fact that having your pilot die on your flight would surely scare the heck out of me. They should do more about their physicals than they're doing now. It is not a good advert for them, in my humble opinion. Cheers!!!

Hi, Pat! It's so good to be reminded that humanity is indeed humane! That crew couldn't have handled things better if they were working from a script!

Geez, yeah. I haven't heard of this one. How did they pull it off with the body, I wonder?

I give them all two huge thumbs up. It was a remarkable display of professionalism on their part, and really, I think they should be rewarded with an extra couple weeks' paid vacation. They definitely deserve it.
