My luggage depends on the country of destination and the length of days that I will stay in that country. But I do not exceed the maximum weight of luggage that is allowed for me. I only have one hand carry bag that contains some of the important things I need and some pieces of clothes, just in case my check-in luggage was delayed or lost. For domestic travel, the same, I also pack what is needed most, but have some extra clothes, just in case of emergency. It is the going or coming back home that make some problem of over-luggage coz sometimes i bought souvenirs and some things for my family as 'pasalubong'. I always weigh my luggage before going to airport so that I won't pay for extra luggage. I had to leave behind some unimportant items with my sibling so i won't pay for extra luggage at the airport.

I have learned to travel lightly but it took me years to master that skill. My luggage in the past used to be really heavy and bulky. In Finland I met an Australian lady that traveled incredibly lightly. She had to wash clothes every day or she would have run out of it. I don't travel quite as lightly as her but I find my luggage a lot easier to carry. I have a backpack and in the bottom of it I pack a few outfits. In the middle I pack my toiletries and my clothes washing kit. In the top I pack my camping plate, cup and cutlery. In my handbag I pack my sunglasses, camera, memory cards and batteries. In my money belt I pack my passport, money, debit card, tickets and travel insurance details.

I travel very light one carry on and a pocketbook. I had a bad experience on my first trip when I was 18. Coming back from Puerto Rico my luggage was lost and never found. I had insurance on it but only received 400.00 not what my stuff was worth. I guess it was better than nothing. Since than when traveling its always one bag.
