Yesterday I got a certificate for the Spanish that I have been learning. I am really pleased with it. I went to evening classes for two hours once a week. I am planning to do the next level beginning in September. I had a look at the web site of the college that I went to. They have lots of great evening classes that will begin this autumn. There are even one day courses like How to be happier so that should prove popular. Have you ever been to evening classes? If so what did you learn about? If not would you like to join an evening class. What might you like to learn?

i have joined an evening class a few months ago. it was on hotel and restaurant management, but mostly about the hotel since i wasn't able to join my friend on a class that's all about cooking. the place was newly established so i had a few comments here and there on how to improve their administrative ways in my head. but it was fun, i made new friends and learned a lot. and i could say that i feel like h.r.m is something that i would like to delve into more. we discussed about the ins and outs of the hotel, a few lessons on house keeping, bar tending, culinary, front desk operations and etc. it was great. im thinking of joining another evening class like culinary, i really wanna cook because im not good at it. hahaha... and a few foreign languages wouldn't be bad either. whats good about night classes it that one can meet new people and expand their horizons even more. you can get that through reading books and etc. but it also helps if someone is teaching it to you.

Thanks for your excellent response. I think that you found your evening class on hotel and restaurant management interesting. The content will prove really useful for you. I am hopeless at cooking. Good luck with your course on culinary delights. To have a tutor at a language class really helps when dealing with how to say challenging words. I have made some lovely friends at my Spanish class. One guy goes to two other evening classes and works full time. I wish I had that amount of energy.

It was a great idea to go to evening classes at exam times to do extra revision. I am sure that helped your studies.

I took an evening classes before I studied in college. It's actually a class for part-timers, though I studied full-time, as there were not many students taking that subject at that time, hence I just joined the evening class. I did not really like to take the evening class, as I didn't have my own transportation when I took that class, and it's not easy to take public transportation in that area, also my college was very quiet at night, the security might not be good. Hence, my housemate had to purposely go and picked me up from the college after my class, at around 8 at night.

Hi friend, hope you finished your course now, as you created this topic 4 years before. I know about Evening colleges, but not a student there, some of my friends joined in evening colleges and have more fun with it. In this days some students are doing part time jobs in the morning time to increase their earnings.

I took evening classes before, but I did not like it too much. I prefer morning classes. I have had many evening classes, and many of them did not turn out so well.

I went to evening classes for a couple of years to brush up on my German. It was a small class of about eight people and it was great fun. I worked on the German market in my job and hadn't used the language for some while, so I went to evening classes just to enable me to refresh and hold a conversation on the phone. Congratulations on your Spanish certification, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

Congratulations! That is definitely a thing to be proud of. Before I get my degree (I had to drop out my senior year because of health problems) I have to take three semesters of Spanish. I look forward to it because so many people here do speak Spanish. I would like to be able to converse with them, although three semesters of Spanish might not make me fluent. I have taken an evening class before. It was Math Concepts and Applications. I had to have a course of math fo rmy degree, so I chose that one. It was at night, once a week, for four hours a night.

Yes, several times. I enjoy learning new things so every once in a while - when I can - I enroll in courses that interest me. So far I did some language courses, a pottery course, painting with oil, and quite a few more. There are so many things I would like to learn. But time and money aren't always on my side LOL

The open university is common here. People who want to have a higher certificate and they will go to study in their spare time. I was one of them. I learned some French at that time. Later I was pregnant but I didn't give up my study. Actually I passed all the exams well after my baby's birth within a month. So in fact I always thought that it's the best education for my baby. When I was studying in the classroom, he was inside and probably studied, too. Two brains made me smarter:) I love China
