Does it bother anyone else when a news reporter says,

"Now we have to warn you, what you're about to see will be very graphic." And then you YAWN. Yea right, that was REALLY graphic. Give me a break, I've seen more graphic stuff on the farm I grew up on. These reporters must be extremely squeamish. Feel free to let loose on this discussion.

For some it may be graphic so they have to say that. This is in case someone calls in to complain that it was graphic and their child watched it. If they get the warning they they cannot complain.
It is just like people that get really scared when watching a horror movie. Or they will not watch it in the dark or by themselves. For others, scary movies don't phase them (that would be me).

Hi lulu, Thanks for your comment. I think children are being over protected from the real world. But anyway, It just frustates me that what is shown on the news are fast shots of photos, so VERY fast that nothing can be seen anyway. I'm not necessarily interested in seeing gore, it's just so disappointing when I'm prepared to see something and then I get a big letdown. Like winning the lottery and them telling you, "Oh by the way, after taxes you get 5 dollars."

Thank you for your comment, persona. There is such a double standard with the news; they will talk about the latest child molester*, then when they finally give us the so-called 'GRAPHIC' news it's like they think we need to be protected from reality. To me, just walking in a department store and seeing the way some women are scantily dressed, for instance, has me losing plenty of innocence. Thanks again for your time.
