Oh I read my bible twice a day everyday. Although they are days I miss reading it twice but I never go a day without reading the bible. Its my sword of the spirit and it renews my strength everyday.. Just like what God said in Joshua 1:8..

I don't read it everyday, but I wish I did. I need to start reading it more. I love it when I do read it, as it calms me and makes me a happier person in general. But I just don't really find the time. The only spare time I have these days are like snatches of minutes here and there, when I usually have something more urgent that needs to be done. But I will try to read it a lot more. Certainly, when I go to university in the autumn, there is a church there, and you can go to prayers for half an hour every morning. I think I will probably do that.

I do try to read my Bible every day. I used to read it before going to bed at night but I found myself getting way too tired and not reading as much as I wanted to. So I switched to reading first thing of the morning. I still do read at night sometimes but my serious studying and reading is done of the mornings so I don't fall asleep!

Thank you for bringing this topic to the forum. I too, used to read the bible a lot during trying times and then not so much when I felt things were better. The bibe is not for convenience, it is the word of God and through you learn of love or us and his commandments. I am on my spiritual path and sometimes I have to remind myself that like everything else, I have to make time and give God my effort like I to to everyone else. Without his presence in my life I will will not have a life so I will continue to read my bible and grow in his love.

I read the Bible almost every day and have for years. It helps me focus on what's important. I don't attend church and don't feel the need for it, but I do fellowship with other Christians, which is what we're instructed to do. Being around others who share your faith will strengthen it, no matter what the setting. Also, learning from teaching or preaching will open new things to you, whether in church or not.

As a rule, unless I'm physically unable I read the Bible everyday, I try and study a different passage every day and see what it's telling me, writing down what I think it means, etc. It's helpful in staying focused.

Just wondering if you are like me. Reading is not my strength due to dislexia and probably other reading handicaps. I also struggle with picking up the Bible and settling my mind in order to read Scripture. It's not just reading words but it's about hearing from God. I wonder if I'm hungering and thirsting to know Him better because if I were, you wouldn't be able to pull me from it. Don't be so hard on yourself because you'll feel condemned and that will push you farther from Him. As far as attending church, I also am tempted to not go at times, but I also know that when I miss, it's easier to miss Sunday after Sunday and pretty soon, I'm not going at all. My week goes so much better and I'm much more refreshed to begin a new week when I've gone to church; I've never felt worse by going to church and in these times, we need all the encouragement and supernatural lifts that we can get. Don't you agree? Then just do it!!!
