I love chinese food, well, I only know what you get in USA. However, recently my husband and I have found that we are bloating after. We generally do not over eat because we both have lost tons of weight over the past three years. Does any one have an idea why we have been bloating after eating chinese food?

The only thing I can think of is that maybe all of the rice if you eat alot of rice combined with water or whatever it is that you are drinking with your dinner can make the rice swell up and make you feel fuller. That is just a thought at least. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

One very simple reason could be that Chinese food is very delicious and one just likes to overeat , going from wonton soup to chicken fried rice spring rolls to tasty desserts. If one goes to dim sum shop, it just never ends ! So, that just makes the person start bloating. That's what happening to me too !

A lot of Chinese restaurants use a substance called MSG. My wife ALWAYS has stomach problems if she eats food with MSG in it. We have learned to start asking if MSG is used BEFORE we order at a restaurant, and we do not eat at the ones that use MSG. This may be something you want to look into as well.

It could also be the sodium. Sodium tends to make you bloat more. Drinks lots of water after wards to flush the excess sodium out of your system.
