Have you ever had dry lips where you put on lipstick and lipgloss and the lips dry off after a few hours. ANd when you try to hydrate by drinking water or liquid, it starts to peel a little that you have to rub it off so it comes off??? Have you ever had this problem and what was your solution???

I have this problem and it starts few years ago, when I moved to another country and since then my lips always get dry every time I put lip gloss/lipstick and I don't know why, but maybe it's the weather! I just stopped using lipstick or lip gloss and when I'm going out I put lip balm and vaseline when I'm at home. I'd like to know some solution also because I do miss using lipstick/lip gloss.

I use only the Maybelline lip smooth. It has various colors but its not like lipsticks though that lasts longer than we want. Does apply vaseline helps your dry lip problem?

I think it does because I rarely get dry lips at all, but I only apply when I go to bed.

Yes, I have a problem like this before. I think it was because of the substances used in the lipstick that was not suitable for my lips. Other products from this particular brand are just fine. So, my lips became very dry and itchy, sometimes it was painful. What I did was, after I peeled off the dry skin I applied my lips with a lip gloss that came with vitamin E and a few days after that, my lips was back to normal.

I used to have trouble with dry lips. When I started using lipgloss and lipstick, it got worse. I was constantly applying more and more, because it felt better right after I'd apply it, but then much worse half an hour later. I finally started to use Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine (I usually use the 2% peppermint oil flavor). You have no idea how much I love this lip shine. It feels so good when I put it on (lots of lipgloss have a gritty feeling to them), it's exactly the kind of shine I was looking for, it stays on longer than anything else I've used, it makes them really moisturized and soft after a while, it freshens breath... I put it on every night too, because that seems to make them even softer (probably because I'm not eating while I'm sleeping). They have so many different flavors... I was trying to buy all of them, but it's way too pricey for someone who's broke :P So, I have 3 flavors, right now :)
