How Really God disciplines us?

I always pray and talk to God that He will discipline me every time that I'm not doing right. He always been faithful to me, even though honestly I'm not that faithful to Him. He used to discipline me through those people around me, and even in my dreams He shows me things that makes me think what I did that not pleasing to Him.. It hurts to be corrected in such things that we even think is right but absolutely wrong. I'm so thankful for God's presence and faithfulness to me.. What about you How can you say that God disciplines you?
