A friend just sent me this link to this story. Does anyone else know of a cat that commanded such an amount of affection from so many? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/20/nyregion/20prettyboy.html?_r=1

Aww--what a sweet story. Pretty Boy seemed to have captured the hearts of many people on Seventh Avenue. He reminds me of my Snoopy, also a white cat and lived to be 21 years old. I love hearing stories like this though...even while a bit sad, since all we usually hear about is the recession, wars, and so forth

The story reminds me of Dewey, the library cat who lived in the public library in Spencer, Iowa. There is a book written about him entitled, (of course) Dewey. the author is Viki Myron. As a kitten, he was posted into the left book slot by some unkown person as an 8 week old kitten and was found by the library staff the next morning. He lived in the library for the 16 years of his life. If you've not read the book, I'd recomend it.
