I've had same cell phone number for about 7 or 8 years now. I have ported my cell phone number ported from my previous carrier about a year and a half ago. I know number portability isn't anything new at this point. I think I've been through 3 different cell phone service provider with this same number, including tmobile I have now. Well, technically 2. I started out with Nextel, then they merged with Sprint, then I ported the number over to current phone.

I am using only one cell phone number for the last six years since I started using cell phone. Of course, the network operator had made a modification in it in the first year of my use! Hope, the same number will continue with me for a long time! Thanks for this nice posting and have a good day!

Yes i don'tchange my phone number usually..so i have the same till i had in the past as well!! I think when you change it is quite boring seeing that people may be continue to call in your old one and so when you start with a new number is always a problem..so for that i won't change it so often!

I sure do, Icesmile! I know I'm in the minority, but I find the cell phone to be really annoying. I seldom turn it on, but it's there in case of emergency, or if I have an urgent need to make a call during work hours, since there are no phones readily available for us. I go to the parking lot and take care of business and turn it back off. I've never even tried to use all the features available. Then, I hate chatting on the phone at home, too. It's just not my thing!

I don't have the same cellphone number 10 years ago. I am using my cellphone number for about a year now. I have changed my cellphone number from time to time. How I wish I could keep the same number but there are times that I receive prank calls at night from someone I don't know, I used to have a stalker, etc. thats why I changed my cellphone number.

Same here. I got my cell phone for my eighteenth birthday, and I still use the same number now, ten years later. I also have other two numbers, one is as old as the first one, since I bought it only a few months later. I moved, I changed the group of people I used to go out with, but I guess I'll always keep this connection with the past.

I already have my cellphone number since 9 years ago, never changed it until today. I am quite satisfied by the provider service, never have any problem with the signal. Besides my cellphone number,I also have CDMA number since 2 years ago, it is much cheaper calling or SMSing with that number.

I've changed my cellphone number lots of times in the past 10 years, so I think people would have a harder time contacting me. My boyfriend still has the same number, though, because he wants to make it easy for people to contact him no matter how long they haven't met each other. He's a people person and I'm not, so I think our choices in keeping our numbers or not just reflects our personalities.

I've been using the same number for over 6 years, but not 10-year long. I bet many people refuse to change in fear of losing contact with some friends and very important clients.

No, We never had mobiles before 10 years in India. Mobile arrived around the year 2000 and spread drastically. I bought my mobile 4 years ago and I have not changed it. I just love my number. Even I dont stay in India, I have not locked the number. I wil continue with that for more years.

lol I have had over 10 cell phone numbers. :o) Now, I use tracfones. I wait till the contract runs out if I do not like a company and then go to a new one, but I have found that the tracfones keep the signal better and have very few dropped calls, plus no contracts and no bills! :o)For the home phone, we like to keep it the same. :o) Good discussion.
