What would you do if you learned that you were going to have septuplets?

I saw on the news that the McCaughey septuplets will be 9 soon. I can't believe it's been that long since they were born, but I'll bet their parents feel otherwise. They live fairly close to me here in Iowa, so I've always had an interest in them. But think about it. What would you do if it happened to you?

That sounds like an extremely wise thing to do. You know you won't get any for a long time after.

That would be a good start, but think of all the preparations you would have to make, the size of your home, etc.

Honestly i don't think I would survive the pregnancy. I'm 5 foot nothing and 100lbs. I'd be scared.

1) Pray to God that they have mistaken and hope that it's only twins 2) Bed rest until they want to come out, cos i dont think i could get much sleep then 3) reassure my husband that i love him a lot but work harder cos it going to be a huge burden financially 4) prepare a room for my parents to come and stay with us permanently so that there's extra hand to take care of the babies.

Wow, that is amazing! I cannot imagine how I'd feel, or how I would react to hearing that news!! I would definately pray and ask God for his help. I'd ask him to protect the babies, and also to give me strength!

You'd need it. I remember when this mama was pregnant she ended up in complete bedrest because she got so huge. I mean, when she was laying down her stomach wasn't a little hill like most women; she had a mountain up there. She's a small person, and it always amazed me how she carried all that around as long as she did.

You must really love babies. Do you have a lot of friends or family who would be willing to help you out for awhile? I know the only way this family I referred to made it through was with a lot of help. They also received some financial help from various organizations as well as help from their church. It would be very difficult to do it all on your own. And you're right, when they began to talk back it had to be a nightmare. I'm sure life is much easier now that they are 9 and can do a lot of things for themselves.

I do love babies. I have plenty of family who could help out. As I have 5 sisters and two brothers.

I am sure I would have had a lot of problems with having that many at once. Unfortunately due to Health issues, I was never able to have any kids, but it would have been nice. I would Love to know more about what is going on with this family. Hard to believe they can be almost 9 now. Wow!!

That would be life altering, wouldn't it? Ialways wanted twins when I was younger and due to circumstances I only had one child whgo I love dearly. But septuplets,I can not even imagine that.

Why in the world would any one want all those kids! We have 4 and that is plenty for me. I couldn't think of what it would be like to have them all at once, one at a time is hard enough. I would loose my mind.

First I think I would pass out, then once I have recovered from that and ask them how many again, I would probably pass out again when they tell me. Then once I have recovered from the shock it would be just panic mode which probably would last a few days. Then I think I would be building the house bigger to fit them all in. Then I would have to start sweettalking my friends to come around when they were born to help out. I love children, but I have always said I wouldn't want to have more than twins at a time.

I dont think I would be able to speak, thats for sure. I guess though in reality, I would worry throughout the entire pregnancy. I think I would also ask them to have the ultra sound machine serviced because there must be some kind of mistake lol!! I would have to move aswell because there is no way that they would fit in here.

I think I would freak out and continue to do so until... well forever. That's a lot of kids and I'm not exactly a kid person. I mean I like kids, but I only planned on having like 3 or 4... at different times.

I'd probably pass out from shock, lol. But then I would just wait it out and see what happens, like they did. I can't believe they are going to be 9. I remember when they were born and love to pick up a Ladies Home Journal every year and see the pictures of them. They are all so cute.
