THe reason i have asked this question cause i am planning to watch the latest Transformer movie. Usually movies here in cinemas will depend on what cinemas you go to. it will range from $5 to $10. If you go to middle class kind cinemas then it will be less than $5 but if you are into some kind of expensive cinemas it will fetch up to less than $10. spending on cinemas can really be too expensive and can be too much on our budget. but since i do not watch movies that often on cinemas i may be able to watch this time with my saved money. but i will only go to middle class cinemas type. $5 is way too much already for me. i have heard that Transformer is really a good and exciting movie. i have not seen the first movies of Transformer and i don't have any idea on the first one and so i will be clueless to what to expect on the sequel. all i know it is just more exciting than the first one. the first transformer seems cool as i had seen on the trailer or commercial on televisions before . now i have not seen the trailer or commercial for the latest one. but since it has already good reputation of being a good movie before so i expect that i am going to enjoy this one and will not get bored. only few movie i do watch and like. i am a very picky person in regards to the movies that i do watch. i don't want like wasting or spending my time watching movies not unless i really really like or totally absorbed on the story line.

hmmm i can't remember when or how much was it the last time i entered a cinema. my girlfriend and i prefer to watch movies at home because nowadays cinemas are so crowded even if you are early. If we really like the cinema movies to watch, we just wait for the dvd and rent it or dl it hehe. . . we don't like to watch the pirated ones, it's garbage..

well i don't think so. the pirated ones are good too. but if you have to wait for the original movie to come out or released in dvd's before you can find decent enough pirated dvds to watch. cause mostly the pirated are copies from the cinema and is no good to watch.

Hi guys, this is a very fascinating topic to share with. But to clarify how much the cost in your cinema, we ought to inform that our origin country is to the others. As for me, I stay in Malaysia. The normal ticket price is RM10 (RM10=US2.82). This is standard price for every state in Malaysia. May you get cheaper price when you go cinema in weekdays. Maybe you guys can share with me where is the cheapest movie ticket in the world?! ( Currency in US dollar). Cheers!!

Wow, $5 or $10 seems cheap to me - here in Australia, you pay between $16 and $19 to go to the cinema - because of this, I rarely go anymore, because it's just too expensive! My partner and I used to go to the movies once or twice a month, but since the cost is now so high, we only go two or three times a year.

I know that I don't go to the movies much anymore, and neither do most of my friends, because it's so expensive. When I do go, the cinema's do seem full though, so I guess there must be people willing to pay that much money to see a movie.

Wow, that is just freakin' expensive. Do lot of people still watch cinema down there. i could not imagine shelling out that much money for two hour movie. i would never watch movies if it that were expensive over here and i doubt if any one would still watch. it cost so much. even rich people will not watch any more movie with that price.

So far, it had been a few months that i didn't visit the cinemas in my area. The last time i visit cinema, the ticket price per entry is around $10 to $15, also depend on type of cinema. If 3D cinema, it can fetch-up to $25 for entry. Now, i don't visit cinema because my toddler scare of the loud sound and dark sight in the cinema. So, i prefer to buy dvd and watch at home. Besides that, i am able to watch that same film as many time as i wish, if i buy dvd...

Here in our place the cost of cinema minimum of 4$ it depends on the cinema and the quality of the movie. Other cinemas cost i around 8$ to 10$ but they are quality cinemas offering free unlimited popcorn and drinks.

are you referring to the gateway mall in cubao. wow is that so. you mean only people were in the cinemas including. why was that. i will try to visit that place. but i doubt i will get free popcorn.

Last time when i watch a movie at Platinum gateway we are only 4 inside the cinema but they give us a lot of popcorn and drinks at the lobby. As long as there is popconr in the lobby and drinks you can get more than one's

hello. for a regular movie around here, it costs $8.50. if you go before 5 pm, it costs $6.50. and if the movie is 3D, it can cost around $9. i feel the same as you, that i don't like to waste money on movies (and i have picky tastes too)! and if you have a kid, it's worse, because almost every kids movie that comes out here is a 3D movie, and it costs so much more for us to all go as a family. then of course we get the popcorn and the coke for my son and end up spending around $30-$35 dollars. it is so expensive to go to the movies these days!
@hotsummer (13835)

yeah that is true. if you would go out as a family then it will be more expensive. it is better to watch it on dvd. actually it is more enjoyable to watch it at home.

Hy hotsummer.I live in India and the cost of watching a cinema in a decent place and seat cost me Rs 250/- ie about $6. Its a costly affair cos we are anot allowed eatables from outside and are compelled to buy the eatables from teh mutiplex itself and a popcorn packet would cost Rs 70/- onwards ie $1.5.I love going to the movies on weekend, to sit & relax and enjoy a movie with no disturbance but unfortunaltely, my city hardly plays english movies and i have to compromise with the bollywood ones. Have a nice day

yes i have heard that bollywood movies are a great movies in your place and that many people are watching it. and that cinemas are earning well there. but not here in my country. they are not earning well as they used to because of piracy. do you have piracy also on bollywood movies.

well, the average cost of a cinema in this country is $2-$3 dollars. Which is not affordable to most of the people here and because of piracy that price is too high(you can buy a pirated one for just 50 cents) so they cannot compete. But the highest cost of a cinema here is $10 to $30 dollars which is not really affordable. imax is about $6 (but its not really imax). i often go to the movies when i am bored or like to watch something im waiting for
@hotsummer (13835)

what do you mean it is not really imax. do you mean that SM cinema in Mall of Asia is not really imax. but only in name. so what is really imax then. i am willing to pay $30 if that will really give me an Imax experience. but only for once to experience only. $6 is still affordable cause i can see many people watch even in that price. but it will depend on the kind of movie showing. anyways, i am just willing to pay about $3 at the most for the cinemas.

i'm not sure. the movie theaters that are close to me charge about $12 for an adult movie ticket. As for the movie transformers, i have not heard very much about it. I have seen the trailer and it looked good so i would go and try it out. The experience is always much better in the theater because you get much better sound and there are no other distractions.
@hotsummer (13835)

yeah the sound is much better in cinemas and we can enjoy it more and the dim lights help us to concentrate more and also because of the strong air condition cause we don't use our air con at home which is only in one room in my home.

Wow going to the cinemas seems alot cheaper in the US? My apologies if you are from outside the US. I live in New Zealand and the cheapest movie tickets are sold for $10.50, the average cinema actually charges $15.50. For a deluxe ticket which allows you entry to a pre movie deluxe lounge, gives you complimentary popcorn and soda and a lazy boy seat you pay $25.

i am from the philippines. anyways, cinemas are cheap here. but there have been few cimenas around who are costly too as expensive as $5 or more. anyways, you cinema there are way too expensive. maybe most people there have the cash for that. people here are always tight on money and are not willing to spend that much for just to watch cinemas.

Hey hotsummer, I'm from India. Here the cost of watching a movie is about Rs.40. That translates into about 1 USD. That is a cost at a low end movie theater. At an IMAX theater the cost of the ticket is about 5-6$ roughly. The transformers-2 does seem to be a good movie. Saw X-Men Origins:Wolverine yesterday. That movie rocked.

that is very cheap. here imax i think is about $10. but for me that is expensive. but i can watch on imax if i really want to spend money a lot but i love to save on something more important and i have not experienced watching on imax yet.

I really am not sure how much the price of tickets at the cinema is these days. The one in my town closed down several years ago and the nearest one is around 30 to 40 minutes away. I don't think I have been to that one in three years since Superman Returns came out. The last I heard it was around $7 a ticket.

yeah, the smaller cinemas usually close down when better and bigger cinemas opened up. which is always the case here. bigger cinemas usually are bad for the smaller cinemas.
