Besides being very costly they are gadgets with ultra advanced technology. I feel they shouldnt be bought until and unless you are ready for the loss they would incur in terms of negligence or misuse or going faulty. The featurers are amazing and something very new and innovative! The touch screens are indeed very touchy!

I think you are from India and 3G is a boom here. People are going crazy to buy 3G phones as it is the latest technology now. And that's the possible reason for their sky high prices!!
We'll see the prices slashing as their demand decreases as it happened with iPhone 3G..

My husband and I both have one of the 3G BlackBerries that Sprint offers. It's nothing new to us. He's had a BlackBerry for quite a while. We both have insurance on our phones just in case. We've got a 13 month old who loves to get her hands on anything and everything. Pretty much any phone will have faults. I'm on my 5th BlackBerry since January when we upgraded. The first one quit charging. The second one quit ringing. The third one, I couldn't get on the internet. The fourth one kept shutting off in the middle of calls and now this one I have now seems to be working fine.
Amazing how technology has come in just a few years. I was channel surfing the other day and came upon a rerun of "Saved by the Bell" from the early 90s. Zach, one of the characters, had a cell phone and it was about as big as a cinderblock! I remember those phones very well. My dad had one that was in a bag. He carried it like a purse.
