When i awoke this morning, I was not surprised by the news that Jon and kate Gosselin(Jon and Kate Plus eight) were announcing their separation after 10 years, a set of twins, and sextuplets. I dont know what upsets me more, the fact that the show will continue or the fact that they are using the marital problems to increase their finances. I must admit it wasnt until even interested in the show that much before all this drama. I did watch it initially but I honestly didnt like the bit**iness of Kate and the way Jon was separated from the family. It was a joke. Imagine what its like to have one set of multiples but two. I think from just watching the few episodes I had watched, that it was over along time ago. They really had nothing in common. Kate and Jon didnt agree on anything. They never had loving moments. I try not to judge people until I know all the facts. In this case they put the facts out their for all the world to see. How stupid could they be? Did they think they could behave badly without the world seeing it? This couple took advantage of their children's originality. Now they want us to watch the family as they struggle thru a terrible time in their life. I am not so sure that is a good idea. What do you think about the whole situation. dl

I have to agree with you...but given the fiew times I caught it..I was surprised when they renew their vows (I think it was last year) personally from the 1st episode I saw, Kate always had a personality that rhymed with itch, and Jon was just too nice. I wonder what they will call the show now? I think they are making way too much money off of this whole thing. And the poor kids have got to live with this kind of publicity. I hope it doesn't become Kate & 7 plus a divorce. This should end.

I have never really watched the show....just have seen clips etc from it. I am not the kind of person what would expose my family for the whole world to see. I know they probably needed the money but what will all of this do to the children? I think it's kind of sad.

I think that in the beginning they thought it would be a great experience for them and their children. I dont think they thought it would take on this amount of notoriety. I only hope they now realize that the world is watching, whether they like it or not, and behave accordingly. dl

I think that it was really honest of them to want to go forward with the show despite their marital problems. Perhaps now people will realize that you can be divorced and civil to the other person. This could be really good for America. Think about it. Lots of kids grow up in divorced households. Now, they'll have someone on T.V. to relate to. I just hope they can pull it off well.

With 8 kids I would hope that they would seek councelling and try everything in their power to make it work for the sake of the kids. It seems like they just gave up, well, Jon gave up first I think. I think Kate is pushy and maybe didn't treat Jon as well as she could of but he knew that when he married her. I think Kate was ready for a family and to be a grownup but it seems Jon never had a chance to outgrow his party years. Maybe after some time apart they can make things work. I hope so at least for the sake of the kids.

You said it well my friend. You are absolutely right. I think that fame does alot to people. Some of it not good. I feel so bad for the kids. No matter what they are still their parents. I do think that Jon always wanted to have fun. He seemed to get very annoyed with the kids and Kate. I do think Kate was the better parent by far. I just want to see how much of a mess the divorce will be. I bet you that its gonna be terrible. I honestly hope not. dl

I kind of wonder if this was only a publicity stunt like Britney Spears shaving off her hair. I feel bad for the kids. In any siatuation whether there are 2 kids or 18 kids, the kids are the ones to suffer when the parents split up. It is better, IMO, for a couple to split up rather than stay together and fight constantly. Children can feel the tension and they act accordingly. I do hope they get back together, but judging from how Jon was talking about Kate on the end of the show Monday, I doubt if that happens. Sounds like Kate has made her bed. Time to lie in it and deal with what she's done.
