Sleep is necessary for healthy function of every organ system in the body. Sleep regulates emotional well being. It's also needed for learning and memory formation. Different type of learning are consolidated in the brain during different stages of sleep.I think these stages as sleep nutrients. we must get some of of all them in order to have balanced diet sleep. But when we have poor sleep we don't get enough of some of them. Do you get enough sleep? If not your lack of sleep nutrients.

I will be happy to describe some of the problems poor sleep can cause if anyone doubts your premise here. I have narcolepsy and a non-obstructive sleep apnea. That basically means I get too much REM sleep when I do sleep, have trouble falling asleep or staying awake, depending on the day, and I stop breathing at night long enough to limit the oxygen to my brain. It is pain, weakness, confusion, poor balance and depression at the best of times.

O.o I'm 12 and I sleep 7 to 9 hours. I think that's okay for me. When I get tired in the day I just sleep for a short 15 - 20 minutes. It makes me feel refreshed and more alert.
