Why did Avril go pop??

Avril Lavigne was one of the hottest punk singers[it was mostly her punk look, rather than her "punk" songs :P]
Anyway all of a sudden she goes through this drastic chage n becomes like a complete pop-star.
Now she's just one of the thousands of popstars out there.
Wat are your opinions on Avril's change of look??
PS:Does anyone know why she changed?

yeah i don't get it either. maybe she's trying to stay fresh and current so people don't think she's stuck in a style rut. maybe she started to feel ridiculous with all of that punk stuff surrounding her all the time. when you're young it's cool but eventually you start to feel childish with pink highlights and spikes around your neck everyday i would think. i felt this same way about jewel when she came out with her new look. she used to seem so sweet and down to earth, but now she's just another one of those hot girl pop stars. i don't really know why they do it that's just my opinion.

Well, yeah, maybe. But whatever it is, it sucks to see Avril change so much. She was like the image i had for an ideal girl. And now, she's one of the "plastics".
