hello everyone. i was busy this past few days coz i had new job. very first that i'll get paid because of doing cleaning. i cleaned in school near us for 4 hours a week and i have to finish 2 rooms, 3 toilets, 1 playroom and 1 hallway. at first, i wasn't able to finish it for 2 hours and finished it for 3 hours. it's really different for me coz i work at the office before and now since i do not know the language here so i have to start somewhere...do you any experiences or anything you can share about cleaning?

When they hired you, didn't they give you a list of what cleaning they expected done at least through a walk through at hiring? If so, write these things down in a small memo pad. Use a highlighter or different colored ink for those things. Then list other things that you know must be done. Now, organize all these things into a 'plan of attack'. Best method is usually working from top to bottom as dirt falls... (your list will likely be diff. this is just an example.) 1- Dump all garbage into one can 2- Pick up clutter 3- Dust 4- vacuum/Sweep/mop 5- Wash windows 6- Empty the one can with garbage as the last thing etc... then if you finish early.. clean some extras for that little something to earn you brownie points about what a valuable worker you are. If no time for extra... oh well, at least you met your boss's expectations. I used to work as a custodian for a school and cleaned motel rooms.

Great! I haven't cleaning professionally but trust me doing it at home 24x7x365! lol..I like a clean house and keep the cleaning regime in my schedule intermittently. On Sundays I go head over heels with it. it feels great to relax after a hard day's work with beautiful aroma all around you.

i use to clean houses with my mother when i was young. We clean the whole house for half day but since were together we manage to finish the cleaning in 2 hours. aside from that i use to clean a school laboratory when i was studying. i was a working student by the time and part time job is cleaning the offices.

I once worked for a cleaning service for one day. This was a different kind of cleaning those as this was for homes and not for schools. I can't say that I have any tips though, but I wish I did have some that I could share with you. All I can say is try to find a way to clean the rooms in a speedily but cleanly manner. Are you only allowed four hours a week? Are you able to pick which days you do the cleaning? Are you only allowed one hour per day? Do you vacumn, dust, mop, clean trash cans? Go through and get the trash cans first, then do the dusting if you do, then do the vacumning and mopping... Well Good Luck!

hello, thanks for the response! i have done everything except empyting the trash cans. i still have to ask my other colleagues since i just started with it. that is one thing i have to master, to it more faster than usually. my colleges said, i cleaned things which are not necessary that is why i took time in cleaning.

Hello my friend janyen Ji, Seeing you after very long time. The best way is to think, cleaning your own prmises. First make your clewaning concept very clear in your mind., considering time and area. Allot proportionately time and speed up to reach your goal in time to complete your task within framework. Any new assignment would create little hinderances. But do not worry at all. Success is at your door-step. May God bless You and have a great time.

hi there, first of all congrats for your new job, i am currently working home care in assisted living i do medicine memo, bathing, companionship and also light housekeeping of the residents in the facility, this is a new job that i work cleaning is part of it, they trained only 1 day to let me know what things i need to clean, its pretty much easy its just like cleaning your own house, i am sure you employer told you that you will be trained for specific days, make a note what things you need to do for your job, and eventually you get used to it and you wont forget it even emptying garbage can. goodluck. happy posting!!!

I used to clean homes on my own...after people moved out so that they could get their deposit back. I also had a friend that owned a cleaning business that would clean business's , etc. That was completely different. Are there others working with you or are you on your own. I would ask someone who is at the school to be specific about what they want done.

I do know that there ar tried and true ways to clean in the most effective way. I'll bet you could find a book on this on the internet. I know I use to have a book. If I remember correctly the idea was to clean from the top down, go and clean same area in each room so that you go around in circles, then clean floors the last thing. I never do it that way I clean each room from top to bottom then move on. What ever you do I'm sure you will get faster at it with practice. You are doing the right thing, when jobs are hard to find you take what ever is available, that's what I have always done and I've done some strange jobs but we always paid the rent and ate.
