Its not that big a deal

OKay, so today I wore a skirt, I know none of you are going "oh my god, a skirt? what the hell was she thinking?!" But I have not worn a skirt in a while (four years is a while right?) but I decided as I had lost a bit of weight, I would give it a go. Nothing fancy, just a plain black pencil skirt, about knee length, but how self conscious did I feel?! I felt as if I had no skirt on at all! I checked and I did, phew. The girls at work were really sweet and said it looked nice, but one guy sad "what are you doing wearing a skirt?"...men.# Do you feel uncomfortable in skirts, do you feel odd when you wear things that are out of the ordinary for you?

I've had people say "Oooh, you're wearing a skirt... I didnt know you had legs..." I dont feel uncomfortable in them, I just dont have a lot of shoes that are 'skirt-friendly'. At work, I wear a uniform so I get 'Sorry, didnt recognise you with your clothes on...'

Yes I do. I especially feel uncomfortable in the winter when the COLD air blows UP. I don't mind them so much in the summer when the cool air feels good.

Hi 3cardmonte, I like to wear skirts either tea length or a bit longer, because of the comfort mainly, and femininity. On rare occasions I will wear pants, but then I feel 'butchy', lol, it's weird. My friends said that I was the only one perceiving it as odd. Once you get used to wearing a certain style, it's hard to get psyched into anything else. I thought I was the only one, so thanks for this topic.

quite a lot of people feel that way, so you're definitely not alone!
