I am not familiar really on my internet provider, I was wondering what would I do to make my computer run fast. Some of my friends said I have to add my RAM (memory) but I have only 10mbps (or whatever) given by my internet provider. Which is which that I have to do first? Please I need your advise...thanks

if your computer runs slow it is not your internet provider fault, it is probably either a software problem or maybe the hardware should be improved. If your computer runs slow when you are doing many things in the same time then probably it is a ram issue, if it is generally slow but it was not so slow before it is very probably a software issue solvable with a fresh o.s install, if it is slow only on internet then maybe your connection is not so good. Anyway if you have a 10 mbps connection that should be a really nice connection. How much RAM do you have anyway? If you give us some more information maybe we can figure what the problem is. Happy mylotting

512 mb of ram seems to be not much, especially if you run windows vista. If you could add another 512 mb ram module (or even better replace your ram with 2 modules of 1 gb each, since they are usually cheap), it could improve your computer performace, anyway if the computer has become slower than what it was a fresh install will surely help too, without having to do hardware modifications.

Hold on, you are confusing two different hardwares!! Computer and internet are not the same. You need to be clear whether its your computer that's running slow or is it the internet that's loading slow??!! If its your computer, then better buy a 1 GB chip of RAM or get a new processor. Both are responsible for your "computer"'s speed. And if its internet, then you have no option but to change your plan with your Internet provider. As you say its 10 MBPS connection, you must be having a fairly good downloading speed.

To be honest with you 10mb doesn't sound that bad. Usually 700 to 800 kb is considered broadband width. If your computer is running slow, you may just opt to clear out your cache, if you haven't already t. This is done by going to your Control Panel, Choose Internet Options and then Delete browsing history, etc. Some anti-virus programs may also have a link on your toolbar that will also allow you to clear the cache of that particular browser. Good luck to you!

Hello kykidd good day. Yes thanks for the idea. I will try it. If ever this would not work I think I would have to add my RAM memory...thanks again..
