Do any of you ever astral travel in your sleep? This means leave your body and walk around while you are sleeping. I feel I do this a lot when I sleep and sometimes I wake up and feel as though I am slamming back into my body.

While i was a teenager, that was 20 years ago, i was extremely interested in out of body experience. Astral travel as you call it. I can't even remember what triggered my fascination to that, probably i read too much fantasy books and watch too much movies. Anyway, I got myself a handbook on a special meditation technique that force you brainwave to theta. Didn't work for me. Then i change my strategy from meditation to sleeping. As i recalled, there's 4 stages. Beta (awake), Alpha (relaxed, i think), Theta (drowsy, at the point of falling asleep) and Delta (deep sleep). The best time to try astral is at theta stage. I found it very hard to recall what i'm suppose to do at that stage. Only twice i had a sensation of floating to my ceiling. Then i just can't remember what happened next, no sensation of slamming back into my body, though. Most of the time i simply slip directly into Delta.
