My mother can't swim and doesn't like to go anywhere around the water.

I can. I spent 7 year in competitive synchronized swimming.

im not a good swimmer and i dont want to be one.. sigh

I never got around to learning how. It's not really that important to me, however. I wouldn't want to swim in public pools anyways. :P
