I just read that Farrah Fawcett finally succumbed to anal cancer today and died at 62 years old. 62 years is really not as old as many younger people think. She could have had many more years if not for the cancer. It wasn't more than a few days ago that I read that Ryan O'Neal had finally asked her to marry him. I really don't know why he had to wait over 25 years to ask her hand in marriage. They have a 24 year old son too. He had said that they were going to be married as soon as she "could say yes" but now it is too late for them to do that. They could have had all those years as husband and wife. I really don't know why they put it off. As far as Farrah is concerned, being that she was in so much pain and agony and that she said yes is an indication to me that she wanted to get married before now. I always thought she was a good actress and that people gave her a hard time. People found it so easy to make fun of her all the time. I think that is so sad. She was an intelligent person and should be remembered for her great roles - especially that from "The Burning Bed". She did not have an easy life, people might think otherwise as she was rich and famous and beautiful but she found herself in abusive relationships and had drug and alcohol problems. I think that she had problems finding men who would treat her decently. I know that she had a lot of hard times in her life. I hope now that she has come to end of her battle with cancer that she can rest in peace and have no more pain. Here is a prayer for you Farrah, may you rest in peace. Saints of God, come to her aid! Come to meet her, angels of the Lord! Receive her soul and present her to God the Most High. May Christ, who called you, take you to Himself; may angels lead you to Abraham's side. Give her eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her for ever. Let us Pray. All-powerful and merciful God, we commend to you, Farrah, your servant. In your mercy and love, blot out all the sins she has committed through human weakness. In this world she has died: let her live with You for ever. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN. God Bless you Farrah and your family and loved ones.

I am shocked. I haven't turned on the television today at all so I didn't know she passed on. I am glad that she is out of pain finally. But her movies and shows will live on forever in her memory. I do hope that her son straightens up and they did let him out of jail to see her while back so that is good. I just wish she didn't have that long road of agony to travel before she passed. She was a fighter and lasted longer then some would have thought. I repeated your prayer out loud and may it be heard as all who repeats it have their voices raised as one and that it be readily answered..

I totally agree...why did he wait until she was dying to make her his wife? All those years they could have had that special bond is now gone....she was a classy lady...a good actress and though her life was filled with anguish she always had a smile on her face for the public....rest in peace Farrah....we all loved you!

I really don't get it either. I am glad I am married, I just feel it is an eventual outcome in a romantic relationship. I guess I am just old fashioned. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

Like me she was originally from Texas, so that gave me a very far connections. I liked her work in Charlie's Angels and other things. Actually, I thought that she and Ryan O'Neal had been married and divorced at one time but had stayed close. If that is the case than this was him asking her again.

No, they were never married. I do believe they lived together for about 17 years though. They had broken up for a few years and then got back together when she was diagnosed with the cancer. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

Farrah will be sorely missed for sure. I don't recall her being made fun of a lot. What I remember is her being at one time on the cover of almost every magazine everywhere for her beauty. Yes, she did have some hard times with men but she handled them with grace, I thought. I don't recall ever reading anything bad or questionable about her. As for marrying Ryan, I could be wrong but I heard that it was her that hesitated in getting married and that he'd asked her before and she'd said "no". Sad that it never happened. Years ago, he starred in "Love Story" and this seemed to be his own real-life "Love Story". pretty sad.

Yes, it is ironic that this happened to him when it happened to him in that movie. It is life imitating art. I hope he can recover from this. I feel sorry for her son, Ryan, and her 91 year old father. That is just so awful for all of them. I never heard anything bad about her either really. I don't think she was a bad person, or stuck up, or anything. Poor thing. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!
