Well, I was laid off recently, and I applied for unemployment. It is now three weeks, and still no check. They said it can take up to 21 business days. It's really frustrating. I know there are a lot of people on unemployment so I guess I should understand.I applied for several jobs, and three seems interested so we will see what happens. Have you had to apply for unemployment? How was the wait? How long did you receive unemployment?

I live in Colorado and yes I had to file for unemployment last year when I got laid off. It took six weeks to get my first check. To be honest, I had just started my new job when I received my first check. It can take longer than that though. Just try to be patient, I know it is hard when you do not have any other income coming in.

My 6 weeks that is a long time. I had three prospect for a job and two did not materialize. I am hoping the third one does. Unfortunately, I wont start the testing until a week from now.

I am in England and if we have to wait for unemployment benefits we can vet an advance as many times as we like until we get the momney. For things like food, shelter and so on to keep us going. It would be the money that we would get backdated anyway so instead of one lump sum we get what we would be getting whilst they are dealing with the claim. See if they do that where you are. Especially if you are desperate!! Good luck

We don't have that type of benefits here. I wish we had it. I am going to the unemployment office Monday so hopefully I can get resolution.
